Upon arriving at the designated location, Cason was visibly excited and rose to greet her.

Lilah scrutinized the tall, handsome man and cursed inwardly, "You scumbag!"

"Miranda, you finally agreed to see me. I've missed you so much!"

Cason even tried to embrace Lilah.

She gave him a cold, detached look, which made Cason jump back, hot daring to act presumptuously.

He glanced cautiously at Lilah, suspiciously saying, "Miranda, why do I feel like you're different?"

"Do you need something?" Lilah replied bluntly. "If not, stop bothering me." Cason was taken aback."

Miranda, how can you treat me like this? I've gone to great lengths to find you, offering everything I have, and yet you cruelly drive me away?"

His acting seemed a bit over-the-top.

Lilah was quickly losing her patience.

So far, she hadn't seen any redeeming qualities in this man, aside from his somewhat decent looks.

How could someone as clear-headed as Miranda be interested in him?

It was simply unbelievable.

"If you want to be with me, at least resolve the obstacles from your family first. What's the point of blaming me here?"

Lilah sneered. Cason's face stiffened. "They haven't been obstructing us anymore, otherwise, I wouldn't have... "

"Enough!" With just a few words, Lilah was already at her limit.

What good was a cowardly, incompetent man who couldn't protect his girlfriend?

"I'm telling you, we're already over. Don't come looking for me again, or don't blame me for being harsh!"

Lilah said coldly. Cason didn't react strongly to her words; he looked at Lilah with a hint of amusement in his eyes.

In that moment, Lilah seemed to understand something.

"You know I'm not Miranda?" She wiped the anger from her face and spoke icily.

Cason replied with a half-smile, "Yes, I knew long ago that Miranda found her sister, and I know her sister isn't easy to deal with. Besides, Miranda would never talk to me like this."

He seemed to know exactly how to manipulate Miranda, which was quite irritating.

"If that's the case, why are you still looking for her?" Lilah scoffed. "I won't allow anyone to hurt her again."
