Just then, Cason's phone rang unexpectedly.

He intended to ignore it, but his expression § changed dramatically upon seeing the screen.

"Hello?" He stood up to answer the call.

On the other end, a voice was urgent, "Young master, the old lady's condition has worsened. Have you brought Miss Miranda back?"

Lilah overheard by chance.

So, this man named Sanderson had gone to such lengths just to bring Miranda back to treat his family's illness.

How shameless.

Cason hung up and tried to call Miranda, but Lilah knocked the phone out of his hand.

He glared at Lilah in shock and anger, "My family has an emergency. I must take her back."

"Hah!" Lilah's face was icy. "The well-known Sanderson family can't find a doctor, so my sister must go?"

"Miss Lilah, you don't understand. Miranda's medical skills are unmatched; only she can treat my grandmother." Cason grew desperate and turned to leave, but he couldn't reach Miranda.

Lilah said, "Mr. Sanderson, I can let you see my sister, whatever happens, you can discuss with her. But I have a condition."

Cason was bewildered, "What condition?"

"I must accompany you," Lilah said calmly.

It was her bottom line.

Cason swallowed, momentarily at a loss for what to do.

Lilah continued slowly, "And, you must be the one to bring it up, however you persuade my sister."

That evening, Lilah bid Gerard a simple farewell and boarded a plane to Xylo.

Gerard was heading to Starvale to handle the aftermath of the Darian incident, so they had to part for a little while.

On the plane, Lilah occasionally glanced back at Cason, ensuring he wasn't making any untoward advances toward Miranda, like a hawk.

Cason lived under this shadow, unable to sleep well.

Feeling helpless, he whispered to Miranda, “Can you ask your sister to ease up a bit?"

Miranda didn't respond.

As the plane flew above the clouds, casting a huge shadow, Miranda's lips curled into a subtle smile.
