Finally, they had found their mother.

Lilah thought of Absolon and wondered if he would be overjoyed to hear the news.

"No, no, Mom is mine alone!" Tears welled up in Lillie's eyes, her face pale, glaring at Lilah with animosity.

At this point, Joselyn rushed over to support her daughter, "Lillie, Lillie, don't be like this. I'm still yours alone."

But her comfort didn't seem to help.

In her extreme panic, Lillie rolled her eyes and collapsed to the floor.

Lilah and Miranda were both stunned.

"Lillie!" Joselyn screamed, desperately trying to lift her daughter, but her strength was sapped by the shock, and she couldn't manage it.

Miranda rushed to help, only to be fiercely pushed away by Joselyn.

"Get away, get away!" Her eyes were fierce, like a mother eagle protecting her young.

Miranda, unprepared, fell to the ground, her arm hitting the corner of the sofa painfully. She winced but made no sound.

It was just a light push, but she clearly felt her heart skip a beat.

"Miranda." Lilah quickly helped her up, giving her a conflicted glance at Joselyn, her heart heavy with emotion.

"Doctor, doctor!" Joselyn called out to the doctor rushing over with a nurse, "Lillie has a heart condition, she can't handle any stress, please save her!"

So, Lillie wasn't a healthy child.

No wonder Joselyn was so agitated and doted on her so much.

Gerard had sent for the best doctors, and after a night of efforts, they managed to pull Lillie back from the brink.

Joselyn stayed in the hospital room caring for her, a full day and night without eating or drinking.

Lilah and Miranda couldn't eat either, waiting outside and silently watching the tender scenes through the small window.

"It's alright, she might not fully understand what's happening. We should investigate slowly and give her some time." Gerard, observing, felt a bit worried.

Lilah took his words to heart and patted her sister's shoulder, "Sis, let's get something to eat and bring some food for them too.

Miranda forced a smile, her face pale, and followed Lilah out.

Compared to Miranda, Lilah wasn't as upset.

Perhaps because she hadn't been the one who had tirelessly searched and acted all this time.
