She felt more for Miranda.
They ate some light porridge outside and brought back some easy-to-digest noodle soup for Joselyn, worried it might not suit her and Lillie's taste, they bought several other dishes, making for a rich and appetizing spread.
They knocked on the door.
Joselyn looked at them, her eyes filled with suspicion, "Is there something you need?"
Miranda smiled, "We brought some food."
"No need." Joselyn refused without even looking, worried that anything more might upset her precious daughter.
Miranda's expression visibly changed, but she forced a smile despite the sadness she was holding back. "The doctor said she needs to eat. Lillie also needs to get some nutrition."
Lilah never imagined that her always proud and aloof sister would one day find herself in such a humble position.
It pained her to see it.
"Then give it to me, " Joselyn said, taking the food inside.
The next second, Lillie's sharp voice echoed from the hospital room, “Leave me alone, all of you! They want to take you away from me. They're all bad people!"
Outside the room, the two of them stood in silence.
Joselyn truly adored her daughter, following her every command.
She tossed the food out and drove Lilah and Miranda away, forbidding them from waiting outside the room.
The two girls walked away, supporting each other and frequently looking back.
Joselyn didn't spare them a glance.
How did things get to this point?
Sitting in the hotel lounge, they were at a loss for words.
"I found something, " Gerard said as he walked in, pausing when he noticed their low spirits.
Lilah mustered some energy. "Let's hear it."
Gerard had been quick; in just two days, he had gathered a lot of useful information about Joselyn and Lillie.
It was confirmed that years ago, Joselyn had suffered a severe injury to her head, resulting in amnesia.
Despite this, she was a renowned master perfumer, creating luxurious perfumes crafted for an esteemed royal lineage, and had been awarded a special honor badge.
Later, she opened her own perfume company in a prestigious country and adopted Lillie as her daughter.
