But you can't call her ‘Auntie'—you should call her Grandmother, okay?"
Jerrold scratched his head, "Mommy, what's a Grandmother? I only know about Grandmas and Grandpas, not a Grandmother."
Lilah's face stiffened slightly, avoiding Joselyn's eyes.
"Just call her Grandmother, she said.
"Can this pretty young Grandmother hug me?" Jerrold asked shyly but earnestly.
Joselyn was somewhat taken aback.
She hadn't expected to win the affection of this little one so easily.
"Sure, Grandmother will hug you, she said with a smile.
Jerrold was so delighted that he flailed his arms and legs, reaching out to hug Joselyn's neck and snuggle up to her.
Joselyn, who had never held a child before, was a bit flustered but carefully supported Jerrold, fearing she might drop him.
Jerrold graciously gave her a peck on the cheek, "Thank you, Grandmother."
Looking at this adorable little child, Joselyn's heart nearly melted.
She couldn't help but wonder if Lilah had been this cute and lovable as a child.
If she hadn't lost her children, would things be different now?
Oh well, let it be.
"Grandmother, I know you're my Grandmother, " Jerrold declared.
Jerrold suddenly wrapped his arms around her neck and murmured softly in her ear.
Joselyn was momentarily stunned, looking at him in disbelief.
In his dark, clear eyes, she saw her own reflection.
Did this little boy understand everything?
"Miss Lilah, would you mind if I take Jerrold to get something to eat?" Joselyn asked with a smile.
Naturally, Lilah had no objections. Jerrold hugged Joselyn tightly.
"Grandma, recently Mom told me something about you. She misses you very much. Both she and Aunt Miranda miss you a lot. They went through great Lengths to find you.Can you acknowledge them, or at least meet them more often?"
Joselyn was at a loss for words.
