Lilah was disinfecting and bandaging her wound.

"This old lady's strength is impressive. She almost bit down to the bone.

Ow... she said, wincing as a dull pain surged through her.

Gerard stopped the car and personally helped her treat the wound.

They rested on the spot for half an hour.

Lila slept deeply, but in her sleep, she seemed to call out a name.

Lilah paused, unable to catch it the first time, so she leaned in closer.

"Brenda, Brenda, don't lLeave..”

This time, she heard it clearly.

Lila was calling out Brenda's name.

Lilah was momentarily stunned.

She instantly felt grateful for her decision. Deep love often turns into deep resentment, but perhaps Lila still cared about Brenda deep down.

The two of them shouldn't end like this.

Lilah thought she must find a way to reconcile the two.

By the next morning, they had returned to Eleywood.

Miranda looked at them with curiosity when she saw they had brought back a fierce old lady.

Lilah gave a brief explanation and asked Miranda to conduct a full-body check-up for the old lady.

Miranda, not one to be easily intimidated, stood her ground against Lila, using acupuncture to calm her down.

"Hey, has anything happened at home these past few days?" Lilah asked casually, referring to Joselyn and Absolon.

Miranda paused, "You probably don't want to know."

Lilah was taken aback.

"Mr. Morris has been drinking heavily and got into a car accident. He's in the hospital now. I visited him, and while he's not seriously injured, one leg will need at least three months to heal, " Miranda explained.

Lilah was speechless.

Such a big deal!
