He was already feeling miserable; why did he have to face such an awkward situation at home?

Danna was stunned, staring at her son in disbelief, speechless for a long moment.

"Dad, it's all my fault. I was being thoughtless. It has nothing to do with Grandma, " Karol cried even harder.

She now clearly saw that there were only two people in the world who treated her unconditionally well — Kaden and Danna.

No matter what, she had to stand by Danna's side.

Nearby, Lilah and her family of three felt truly awkward, not knowing what to say.

Jerrold tugged gently at Lilah's hand, "Mommy, how about we just go back?"

Lilah wanted to leave too. Who knew what might happen if they stayed?

"Dad, should we... "

"Well, isn't this lively!" Before Lilah could finish her sentence, a familiar voice rang out.

She was taken aback. Why was Marlene here? What was she doing?

Hadn't she had enough of being bullied by Karol?

Could it be she was here for Kaden, hoping he would give her shares? That was too naive.

Marlene saw Lilah too. She raised her eyebrows, seemingly saying, "Just you wait and see how I deal with that wicked Karol."

"What are you doing here?" Karol turned abruptly, staring intently at the woman who had almost begged her for mercy just the day before.

She noticed Marlene's face had suddenly brightened, radiating an inexplicable joy. Could it be she had found some money?

"Relax, I'm not here to deal with you today. I'm here for Kaden."

Marlene entered with a casual confidence, her gaze sweeping across the room before settling on Kaden behind Karol.

His face was equally dark, as if a storm was brewing.

"This isn't a place for you. Go back." Kaden stepped forward, trying to send Marlene away. "You should leave. We can discuss whatever it is later."

"What's going on?" Absolon also spoke up, remembering they seemed to be a couple.

Marlene shook off Kaden's hand, flashing a smile at Absolon, "Sorry, Uncle Absolon, for disturbing you. I'm not here to cause trouble. I'm here to share some good news with everyone."

Then she turned to Lilah, a smug smile playing on her lips.

Lilah was speechless. What was she up to now? Could she get to the point?
