"If Ms. Alivia thinks so, then it is. After all, the world revolves around me. Joselyn sipped her tea, somewhat distracted.
She had no time to deal with someone who wasn't sincere about working together, nor was she that naive.
Alivia chuckled coldly, "Joselyn, you're really good at pretending, aren't you?"
Suddenly, her expression’ changed, becoming cold and intimidating.
Joselyn frowned slightly but remained unperturbed.
"Ms. Alivia, I don't know what you're talking about." She sat there, exuding an aura of cool detachment, clearly unfazed by the situation. Alivia stared coldly at Joselyn.
"Do you think by acting ignorant, you can hide the stench you've carried for decades? Joselyn, how shameless can you be, desperately holding onto Absolon like that?"
Her voice wasn't harsh, but each word was piercing.
Joselyn remained calm and composed, "So you're here to cause trouble."
With that, she casually turned on her phone's recorder, saying lightly, "I don't know what nonsense you're spouting, but if you stop now, I'll consider it an encounter with someone unstable and let it go. But if you persist, I won't hesitate to call the police and let them figure out what I've done to provoke you."
Her simple words made Alivia's face change drastically. She stood up abruptly, looking down at Joselyn.
The latter's indifferent face was just as it had been over a decade ago, utterly infuriating!
"You're a real thorn in my side, Joselyn. Let me tell you, as long as I'm around, not even death will bring you together with Absolon!" She gritted her teeth, speaking each word with venom.
Joselyn suddenly laughed, crossing her arms, "Ms. Alivia, what have you been doing all these years? Surely you haven't been doing nothing but obsessing over men?
Besides, what are you to Absolon? What right do you have to say these things? Does Absolon even know you exist?
Oh, and as far as I know, Ms. Alivia, you just lost your beloved husband three months ago. Surely you didn't turn around and seek out your first love right after your husband passed?
Joselyn wasn't fond of exchanging barbs, but once given the chance, she didn't hold back.
At this moment, Alivia's face twisted, glaring at Joselyn with a desire to tear apart the face she despised so much.
"You, you talk like you're so noble, but aren't you back for Absolon too? Shameless!"
She was losing control, her features contorting with rage.
Joselyn grew impatient, ready to call security, when Lillie walked in from outside. "Mom, I washed some fruit for you. Come and eat."
She held a fruit platter, with grapes glistening and peaches cut into small pieces.
"Is she your daughter?"Alivia looked Lillie up and down with a mix of surprise and skepticism. "You got married later on? Haha, you actually got married? Absolon waited for you for over a decade, turning down countless socialites, and you went ahead and got married? And had such a grown-up daughter?"
"It's none of your business, " Joselyn replied coldly, her expression turning icy. "Please leave."
