"These people are acting irrationally. What has gotten into them?" Lillie muttered, casting a worried glance at Joselyn.

Joselyn remained composed, pulling Lillie toward the backdoor, having already instructed the driver to wait there.

But to their surprise, the driver was not what awaited them.

"Miss Jian, where to?" A man turned from the driver's seat, revealing a sinister smile.

Joselyn quickly pulled Lillie out of the car, but the next moment, seven or eight gang members wielding baseball bats surrounded them.

Some had dyed yellow hair, others were burly, none looked like decent folk.

Lillie hid behind Joselyn in fear.

"Mom, they, they... "

"Stay calm, I've got this, " Joselyn reassured her with a cold, steady voice.

"What do you want?" she asked directly.

The gang members exchanged surprised glances, not expecting this woman to have such nerve to speak to them this way.

"Your company's product harmed my wife's face. I'm here to get some justice for her; there's nothing wrong with that, right?"

The leader in black sneered, eyeing Joselyn lasciviously.

“Who sent you? I can offer you double, Joselyn replied, unfazed, her gaze icy and calm.

The leader chuckled darkly. "Seems like you know. In that case, no need to pretend. Get them, boys!"

Before he finished speaking, he rushed forward, swinging his bat in an arc aimed at Joselyn's head.

Instinctively, Joselyn shielded Lillie and stepped back, tripping over Lillie's foot, and they both fell to the ground.

The first swing missed, and the leader cursed in frustration, swinging again.

This time, Joselyn had no way to dodge.

Gritting her teeth, she declared, "Unless you kill us today, I will make you pay for this!"

The leader Laughed maniacally, pointing at her, "Since you put it that way, we can't let you off, can we?"

"Mister Xu!" Lillie cried out, nearly in tears.

But within seconds, they were surrounded by the thugs, bats raised.

"Stop!" A cold voice cut through the tension at the critical moment.
