She and Lillie sat in the back, only able to see the backs of Lilah and Miranda, yet somehow, these two girls gave her a strong sense of security.

Lillie pouted and reluctantly muttered a thank you.

Through the rearview mirror, Lilah glanced at Joselyn. Every time she saw her face, it reminded her of her own reflection in the mirror.

Unfortunately, Joselyn was unwilling to acknowledge them.

"Don't mention it, it's what we should do, " Lilah replied with a wry smile.

Just then, Joselyn's phone rang with a video call.

"I've already notified the quality control and public relations departments. They've started taking action, planning to recall and inspect the problematic products. If there are issues, we'll immediately retrieve them from the market and compensate the consumers, " a voice said on the call.

When Joselyn switched to work mode, she became a different person, exuding an air of authority that no one dared underestimate.

Lilah, however, was pondering whether this incident was a slip -up on their company's part or a deliberate setup by someone.

"Ms. Joselyn, I heard Lillie mention an Uncle Xu just now. Can we ask who he is?" Miranda suddenly asked, quite directly.

"I don't know him. Aren't you being a bit intrusive?" Lillie retorted with some annoyance. "Just because you happened to save us today doesn't mean you can ask such intrusive questions."

Unexpectedly, Lillie was particularly sensitive, as if the question was very offensive.

Lilah and Miranda exchanged glances, both seeing surprise in each other's eyes.

Lillie was a straightforward person, expressing her likes and dislikes openly, without much guile. What she said often revealed underlying issues.

If she truly didn't know, she wouldn't have called out that name in a moment of crisis, nor would she react so unusually.

"Lillie, don't be rude!" Joselyn admonished sternly.

Lillie stuck out her tongue and turned to look at the night outside, ignoring them.

"I'm afraid it's not convenient to tell you, " Joselyn said, unwilling to elaborate.

Lilah was left helpless.

Miranda, however, squeezed her hand, signaling her not to be discouraged.

After dropping Joselyn and Lillie off, Lilah and Miranda headed home.

By then, Gerard had already interrogated the attackers.

"These people don't know who ordered them, but the one who paid them is a butler from the Shen family," Gerard said, pulling Lilah into his embrace, his brows furrowed.

The Shen family.
