She nearly collapsed onto the sofa but gritted her teeth, refusing to be defeated by the situation.
"Don't think I don't know. These things are fakes. If you have the guts, go ahead and report me or call the police. What's the point of threatening me here?" She laughed coldly, shredding the documents into strips and tossing them at Joselyn.
Just as the paper was about to rain down on Joselyn, Lilah threw a pillow, deflecting the strips away.
The pillow then struck Alivia's knee, catching her off guard and forcing her to sit back on the sofa awkwardly.
"As always, Ms. Shen displays a lack of manners," Lilah remarked nonchalantly.
Alivia, humiliated and enraged, sprang to her feet. "Joselyn, who do you think you are, coming here to provoke me? Do you think I'm afraid of you? Ha! Everyone knows your schemes. If you have any sense, you'd leave before embarrassing yourself further!"
Her voice was hoarse, more from anger than anything else.
Joselyn spread her hands, "We were planning to call the police anyway, but we thought we'd stop by first to see if you'd apologize. If you're sincere, we might not report you."
She spoke casually, as if certain that Alivia would apologize.
The three women sat together on the sofa, displaying the same amused expression, the same relaxed demeanor, and the same disdain for Alivia.
They were quite in sync.
Alivia was momentarily stunned before bursting into laughter, as if she had heard a hilarious joke.
"Hey, are you crazy? Is your brain alright?" Alivia stared straight at Joselyn, mocking her. "Joselyn, it's been over ten years, and you seem to have gained nothing but a couple of daughters from nowhere. You're still the brazen troublemaker you always were, and now your daughters are following suit...
"Enough!" Joselyn suddenly stood up, her gaze sharp and intimidating.
Lilah was startled, nearly dropping the snack in her hand.
She glanced at Joselyn, surprised to see such an emotional outburst from her.
Miranda was equally shocked, looking up at Joselyn with a complex expression.
"Alivia, I'm warning you for the last time. You can insult me, but if you speak ill of my daughters again, I'll make you pay for it!"
Joselyn's words were firm and resonant.
Lilah was completely stunned, wondering if she had misheard.
Miranda, already surprised, grabbed Lilah's sleeve, and the sisters exchanged a look of shared astonishment.
"You, you... " Alivia was also intimidated by Joselyn's fierce glare, pointing at her but unable to speak.
"Alright, we're done with patience. Alivia, either apologize and compensate, or head to the police station now," Joselyn demanded coldly.
Just then, Terry returned, pausing at the sight before him.
