But Justina actually claimed she loved her sister.
How could that be possible?
"Let me handle this." Lilah pulled Cason aside.
"Justina, why do you say you love Miranda? You've always bullied her since you were little, and your parents don't even like her, " she asked. Justina replied, "My sister saved my life, but she has a cold personality and doesn't like me.
I had to do things to get her attention. My parents may not like her, but I do. She is the only family I can rely on. My parents have other children now, and I'm no longer their priority."
So that's how it was. No wonder she was so close to Miranda now.
"How did you get sick, and why does Miranda always have to donate blood to treat you?" Lilah continued.
"When I was young, I was poisoned. My sister is exceptionally talented in medicine and studied under a pharmacist for many years. She found a way to treat me, but over the years, she used herself as a test subject, trying various herbal remedies.
That's why her blood can detoxify." Justina's expression was wooden, yet her answers were clear.
Lilah understood.
"When will you leave her alone? You're really annoying!" Cason suddenly interjected.
Justina replied, "I don't want to leave my sister. I love her."
Cason wanted to ask more, but a stern voice interrupted from behind, "That's enough!"
Everyone froze for a moment as they saw Miranda descending the stairs, her face looking displeased.
Cason lowered his head guiltily, not daring to speak.
Miranda shot him a glare, "I'll deal with you later."
"Sis, he's just acting out because he's upset. Why did you go along with it and even bring Cyrus here?" Miranda was clearly annoyed.
"We just think your sister isn't as innocent as she seems,"
Lilah said.
At this point, Cyrus had already released his hold on Justina, who slowly collapsed onto the sofa, looking very fragile.
Miranda then helped Justina upstairs, leaving Cason watching helplessly, his heart aching.
"Master, did you discover anything?" Lilah was still worried, feeling that something wasn't right.
Cyrus stroked his graying beard and frowned, "This girl's pulse is unusual, somewhat like... "
As he spoke, he fell into deep thought.
