Lilah said, "There's no need. The murderer, after committing the crime, usually revisits the scene of their crime. If someone is truly behind all this, they will surely show up again."
Gerard replied, "Then let's split up. I'll investigate outside while you stay home and keep an eye on your sister."
Cason, having learned of the incident, rushed back overnight.
Seeing Miranda lying unconscious on the bed, he erupted in fury, dragging Justina over and threatening violence.
His voice filled the villa.
Lilah, somewhat helpless, remarked, "Even if you kill her, it won't help. The priority is to treat Miranda."
"That doesn't matter. This vile woman hurt Miranda, and I won't let her off!" Cason's gaze was icy as he gripped Justina's shoulders, almost crushing her bones.
Justina cried and begged for mercy, her voice particularly pitiful.
"Miss Lilah, Mrs. Joselyn and her daughter have arrived," a maid reported.
Lilah personally welcomed Joselyn inside, and to her surprise, Lillie had come along too.
"What happened? How could someone get hurt just staying at home?"
Joselyn asked. Before Lilah could respond, Lillie suddenly interjected, "Was it a serious knife wound? Has it been treated?"
Her tone was anxious, as if she was very worried.
Lilah was taken aback.
She hadn't mentioned to this mother and daughter that Miranda had suffered a knife wound.
"Miranda still hasn't woken up, " Lilah said, avoiding the topic without providing details.
When they reached the room, Joselyn paused at the sight of the person lying on the bed.
Lilah turned back and caught a glimpse of the sorrow and pain in Joselyn's eyes.
"Miranda, " Joselyn's voice trembled as she rushed over to hold Miranda's hand, her tears flowing uncontrollably. "How could this happen, how?"
Lilah felt a bit relieved.
At least Joselyn genuinely cared about Miranda.
"Didn't you get her treated? Why does she still look so pale?
When will she wake up?" Lillie asked coldly.
Lilah sighed in resignation, "Her injuries are severe, she's at death's door. The doctors have done what they can, but the rest is up to fate... "
