Lilah asked.

Without a second thought, Joselyn called Melvin in front of Lilah. He was more than accommodating and put his work aside to come over immediately.

During the few hours waiting for Melvin, Lilah pondered another issue.

Back when Joselyn and Absolon broke up, both were convinced the other had done something wrong and betrayed them. Was it possible that Melvin had been involved at the time, using this mysterious method?

Lilah knew little about hypnosis, always thinking it was mysterious and dangerous, and she was wary of it.

"Lillie, tell us the truth. Have you used it on anyone else?

Also, how exactly does this hypnosis work, and why did you choose Justina as your test subject?" Lilah inquired.

Lillie, hiding behind Joselyn, remained silent for a long time.

After a stern reprimand from Joselyn, she hesitantly replied, "I haven't used it on anyone else.

This hypnosis technique only requires me to spend some time alone with the person to successfully hypnotize them into doing things for me."

"I chose Justina because she snatched my favorite bag that day, and I overheard her badmouthing Miranda, calling her a nobody who was raised by the Hanson family only to run away once she grew up...

Lillie's voice trailed off.

The atmosphere in the living room grew increasingly tense.

"Justina, she's Miranda's stepsister?" Joselyn asked, frowning.

Lilah nodded, "“Justina's parents only used Miranda for Justina's benefit. They mistreated her all her life, and she finally severed ties with the Hanson family when she couldn't take it anymore."

Joselyn was shocked.

She looked at Lilah in disbelief.

So, her daughter had such a miserable childhood.

Images of Miranda being bullied by her foster parents flashed through Joselyn's mind, and her heart ached.

"How could this happen, how... " She clenched her hands tightly, a flame of anger rising within her.

"The two sisters had a tough life. They were supposed to be adopted, but ended up in terrible situations. If they hadn't saved themselves, they might not even be here today, " Gerard said calmly.

Joselyn's expression darkened further.

Suddenly, she turned her cold gaze to Lillie, "Stand up and apologize to your sister!"

Lillie was taken aback, staring in disbelief at her mother, who had always cherished her as if she were her own life. Tears of grievance streamed uncontrollably down her face.
