The Aurora Jewelers bunch couldn't contain their elation; it was as if they'd hit the jackpot! But for Evelyn and her crew, the mood was anything but cheerful.
As the Aurora Jewelers' bus revved up, a few cheeky team members leaned out the windows, flashing their middle fingers up at the rival company's crew.
"Notice the gap between us?" one of them shouted. "You may take some things, but we always end up with the gold!"
And just like that, the Xavier Jewelers' team went from cloud nine to rock bottom, their celebrations short-lived. The jealousy was evident: they craved that VIP experience too.
Evelyn tried her best to keep her cool, but her eyes glittered with annoyance. Lilah and her crew were pushing her Limits.
What was worse, Nigel smirked as he informed Evelyn, "ALL that's left is the third-class area; if that's not up to your liking, the exit's that way."
She bit back a retort, her knuckles white with restraint. Whispered conversations among her team reached her ears. “Look, it's still a top-notch resort. We might as well make the best of the situation."
With a heavy sigh, she nodded in agreement.
On the flip side, the Aurora Jewelers’ squad was having a ball. They wandered around the central area, which boasted opulent villas and charming structures. Picture-postcard views, framed by verdant greenery, left them in awe. They were met by attentive butlers, and soon enough, smartphones were out, capturing the scenic splendor.
Lilah, experiencing the resort's offerings for the first time, was genuinely entranced. Phoebe, with her eyes set on the famed hot springs, coaxed Lilah to join her for a rejuvenating dip.
Meanwhile, in the third-class zone...
The Xavier Jewelers’ staff was having a good time, and Evelyn found herself in a coffee shop with a poised individual across from her.
“Finally got a moment with you," she quipped. “Thought I'd never pin you down for a chat."
Ruby, wearing a wistful smile, responded, "When I finally had a moment, I made sure to catch up with you."
Evelyn just nodded, and they shared a quiet moment over coffee. But Ruby's gaze soon drifted to a sleek vehicle outside-a black Rolls-
Royce Phantom, with a unique number plate.
Could it be Gerard's ride? The thrill of the possibility made Ruby's heart race.
Evelyn, ever observant, raised an eyebrow. “Spot something interesting?"
"That section over there; is it reserved for your company?" Ruby inquired, nodding toward the posh area ahead.
"Actually, it's for the resort's owner and other important people,"
Evelyn explained, feeling bitter when she thought of the earlier incident.
"Is that so?" Ruby's eyes widened in surprise. Gerard's reach really was everywhere. She didn't expect that he had ties to this upscale resort too.
Evelyn's voice turned frosty. "Funny enough, Lilah's reaping the benefits. She's in the best section now. Gerard won't be thrilled when he finds out."
"What?" Ruby's face drained of color.
