Lilah and the others sat in the living room, listening to Calvin report the findings of his investigation.

Calvin explained that they had interrogated the thug, but the thug claimed he didn't know who had hired him. He had seen the job offer on a forum and decided to take a chance and inquire, surprisingly receiving a response.

They then communicated through email, where the person provided detailed addresses and information about Lilah and Miranda, ordering the thug to take out at least one of them.

"So, did you find out who it was?" Gerard's voice was icy, clearly showing his impatience.

Calvin gave an awkward smile and quickly replied, "We did, but he's already fled."

"Who is it?" Cason asked with a stern expression.

"Spencer." The mention of Spencer's name left everyone in disbelief.

Wasn't Spencer supposed to be completely settled and forbidden from causing trouble again? How did he pop up to cause trouble again, and how had he managed to escape?

"He must have run at the first sign of trouble. We're still tracking him down, " Calvin said, lowering his head. "Besides, I suspect someone is backing the whole family; otherwise, they couldn't have evaded capture for so long."

"Keep investigating. Bring him to me by tomorrow morning, Gerard commanded.

The next morning, Spencer and Emilee were caught and brought to the Harris family home by around eight.

They never imagined they would be captured so quickly, and when the black hoods were removed from their heads in the Harris living room, they screamed in shock at the sight before them.

"What are you yelling for? Have you lost your mind?" Lilah asked impatiently, leaning back in her seat.

"How... how can it be you? You... Spencer stammered, too frightened to form a complete sentence.

"How are you not dead? You vile person should be in hell already! Die! You and your shameless sister should both die!"

Emilee, bolder and more frenzied than Spencer, pointed at Lilah and hurled insults without regard for her safety.

At that moment, Miranda descended the stairs, having heard every word Emilee had shouted.

Although she had anticipated Emilee's audacity, hearing it still caused a pang in her heart.

“Why do you hate me so much? I never asked for your love, and I've always done my best to help Justina with her treatment. At the very least, I'm her lifeline.

There's no reason for such deep hatred, " Miranda said with a cool, inexplicable sadness.

She was simply puzzled.

"Miranda, Miranda, your father still loves you. Everything before was all Emilee's doing. She came up with the idea to hire a killer out of spite. I had no part in it. Please, you must let me go, " Spencer pleaded, his eyes filled with a desperate hope for survival.

Beside him, Emilee laughed hysterically.

"Spencer, you despicable thing! When you were seething with hatred for this woman, did you ever imagine you'd end up like this? It's laughable! You have your day now!" Emilee raved, airing each other's dirty laundry.
