She had witnessed Cyrus and Lilah work together to push Gerard back into his room.
She felt a dark satisfaction.
"It seems it's truly not you, Lilah said, turning her head and slowly descending the circular staircase, "but you must be connected to this somehow."
Lillie laughed even more freely, "Of course. Now your boyfriend, ho, your fiancé, is entirely fixated on me. You'd better cure him properly, or else his mind will never have room for anyone else again."
She defiantly sat on the sofa, deliberately sipping her tea, her eyes filled with anger.
If not for these two troublesome girls, Joselyn would have left with her long ago instead of wasting time here.
"Then let's wait and see, " Lilah smiled faintly, instructing someone to take Lillie away and keep her strictly monitored in a guest room.
"What, afraid I'll affect your precious Mr. Harris?" Lillie taunted, "Ha, Lilah, even you have come to this!"
Lilah suppressed her irritation and ignored the spirited girl.
Soon, Joselyn returned with Melvin.
"Melvin, please take a look at Gerard and see what's wrong, Joselyn urged, leading him to the second-floor guest room.
However, Gerard was still in a state of frenzy, lashing out at anyone who came near.
Melvin retrieved a syringe from his briefcase. "This is a sedative. Miss Lilah, could you help administer it? Once he's calmer, I can assess the situation."
Lilah, along with Cyrus, who was also highly skilled in martial arts, struggled to subdue Gerard. It took every ounce of their strength to restrain him.
Melvin, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, lifted Gerard's eyelids and noted the terrifying crimson of his pupils, frowning deeply.
He examined Gerard's nails and scalp, then drew a blood sample for testing. Ultimately, he concluded that the hypnosis used on Gerard was three times more potent than any they had studied, beyond his expertise.
Lilah stiffened with alarm. "Then... how do we treat him? We can't keep sedating him forever."
Melvin pushed his glasses up. "Actually, if he spends time with Lillie, he'll gradually return to normal, or at least appear so."
"No way!" Joselyn interjected coldly before anyone else could speak. "Gerard belongs to Lilah. How can he be with someone else?"
Lilah's expression was complex, leaving her at a loss for what to do.
Just then, Calvin arrived.
"Miss Lilah, there are media swarming outside. Somehow, they've caught wind of Mr. Harris's situation. Rumors are flying, and the shareholders are anxious, demanding Mr. Harris make a public appearance to explain."
Calvin, bearing the weight of the company alone recently, looked worn out, his face shiny with stress and his lips covered in blisters.
"This is so annoying!" Cason muttered in frustration.
