"Wait." She reached out her hand, her face turning pale as she spoke.
Gerard raised an eyebrow and stopped counting.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Yan Bingbing admitted that she was behind the incident with Bing Xia, and that Walter's mother, Mrs. Chen, was seriously ill because of her.
She promised to hand over the antidote within two days.
Back home, Lilah and Gerard immediately went to see Bing Xia, who was curled up on the sofa, looking utterly lifeless.
"Walter, you should go see her." Lilah said softly.
Then she and Gerard left together.
Walter stood outside the door for a long time, hesitating, before finally pushing it open and walking in.
Bing Xia, hearing the sound, assumed it was a maid bringing medicine. Without looking up, she said, "Take it away for now. I'll have it later."
Before she finished speaking, she sensed a change in the room's atmosphere and instinctively looked up, meeting a pair of familiar yet distant eyes.
Walter slowly crouched down, quietly watching her.
Bing Xia froze for a moment, then felt a numbness spread through her body. She instinctively stood up, covering her mouth and nose, and shouted at him, "Are you crazy? My illness is contagious!"
It was strange. She thought she only had hatred left for him, yet at this moment, she was so concerned about his safety.
"It doesn't matter." Walter stood up as well, moving closer to her. "We've found a way to get the antidote. It will be here in two days. Bing Xia, you'll be fine."
Bing Xia frowned slightly, "What did you do? What happened?"
Walter looked ashamed, lowering his head as he recounted everything that had happened recently.
"So, you lied to me? You didn't betray me?" Bing Xia was stunned, murmuring softly.
Her heart was a tangled mess.
Everything finally made sense, and she understood his reasons.
Yet, at this moment, she still couldn't easily bring herself to forgive him.
His coldness over the past two days had been like a knife twisting in her heart, leaving her breathless every time she thought of it.
Looking at her troubled expression, Walter felt the same sadness. He tried to get closer, yet he knew it would take a long time to warm her heart again.
But he was desperate to act immediately.
