Everyone, including Lilah, Miranda, Gerard, and even Jerrold, was watching intently.
Absolon felt a bit embarrassed and quickly glanced at Joselyn, who was sitting with her head so low she looked like she wanted to turn into a quail.
"Dad, Mom, isn't it time for you to get your marriage certificate?" Lilah couldn't stand it any longer and stood up directly.
Absolon was taken aback. Wow, that's quite direct.
"Sure, sure, " he replied awkwardly, thinking about how Joselyn had been quite bold last night due to the alcohol. He wasn't sure if she'd still agree now that she was sober.
"So, when are you going?" Miranda chimed in.
"Yeah, Dad, the sooner the better. We've checked, and today is as good a day as any. You might as well go get your certificate after breakfast," Lilah suggested.
The younger family members were genuinely invested in the elders' happiness.
"Well, then... " A blush spread across Joselyn's face as she resigned herself, "Let's listen to the kids."
Absolon was stunned for a moment, then he couldn't help but laugh, unable to suppress his smile.
After getting their marriage certificate, Danna, surprisingly, invited everyone to the Morris family home for a meal.
Both Lilah and Miranda had some reservations about the Morris family, but given the special circumstances, they had to muster up the courage to join the gathering.
It had been a while since they last saw her, and Danna seemed to have aged, with graying hair at her temples, looking more aged.
She had someone bring out a jade bracelet, which appeared to be of excellent quality.
"Joselyn, this bracelet should have been yours over a decade ago. I didn't expect it to be delayed for so many years. If you want to blame me, go ahead, " Danna said, her head lowered, her voice hoarse, as if she had truly come to terms with things.
"There's nothing more to say. I hope you and Absolon stay well together and never part again, " Danna choked up, her words moving everyone present.
Joselyn, of course, accepted the bracelet, considering Absolon's position.
"There is one more thing, " Danna said, her expression somber.
She sighed softly and shuffled over to Miranda, looking at her with a pleading gaze.
"Miss Fang, could you... could you please save Karol? She's battling severe depression." As she spoke, tears welled up in Danna's eyes, reflecting her deep anguish.
Everyone was taken aback.
Absolon was the first to speak, "What's happened to Karol?"
Overcome by grief, Danna couldn't hold back her sobs. "She... she has depression. Now it's gotten so bad... Could you all go see her, please?I'm at my wit's end, I beg you."
Lilah and Miranda followed Danna to the second-floor bedroom.
