Next week, Karol would be going abroad with Kaden. Until then, Danna took her everywhere she went, reluctant to part with her.

Recently, Danna had been pondering whether, if she and Karol hadn't opposed Lilah and hadn't done those foolish things, they might not have ended up in this situation.

But alas, what's done is done, and there's no point in dwelling on it.

Karol also glanced at the person on stage, feeling an inexplicable heaviness in her heart.

Everyone around her told her that Lilah had saved her and given her a new life. Yet, every time she saw this woman, she couldn't help but feel an urge to lash out.

Could it be that they were enemies in a past life?

This feeling had tormented Karol for quite some time.

Just then, Devonte squeezed through the crowd and sat down beside them.

Karol didn't notice anything amiss, her eyes fixed on Lilah's profile, trying to uncover the reason for her strange feelings.

Unfortunately, she failed.

Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through her head.

"Karol, what's wrong?" Danna hurriedly supported her. "Are you remembering something again? Don't overthink it."

Suddenly, Karol's wrist was grabbed by someone. She was startled and instinctively turned around to see an elderly face.

"Take a deep breath and relax!" Devonte looked straight into her eyes, focused, muttering under his breath.

Unknowingly, Karol felt herself being calmed, as if a weight had been lifted, and the chaotic thoughts in her mind vanished.

"Thank you," she said. Danna was momentarily stunned, feeling that Devonte looked familiar, but she couldn't recall where she had seen him before.

Devonte smiled with a steady demeanor, "It was nothing, really."

Meanwhile, on stage, Lilah was about to toss the bouquet.

Hadley, Miranda, and Effie stood excitedly in a corner, watching her eagerly.

Lilah silently recited a name in her heart, then closed her eyes and threw the bouquet with all her might.

The flowers traced a graceful arc in the air and, to everyone's surprise, landed right in Joselyn's arms.

Everyone was stunned, including Lilah.

Joselyn's face froze instantly. The bouquet, a symbol of future happiness, suddenly felt like a hot potato in her hands, awkward to hold onto.

Keeping it felt awkward, but so did discarding it.
