"She's been poisoned, we need to get her medical attention immediately," Miranda said sharply.
As soon as she spoke, Livia fainted.
Gerard instructed Calvin to carry her away and have a doctor examine her immediately.
However, the rescue team faced another challenge.
Jerrold had crawled in by himself, and the gap was too small.
Unless they broke open the entrance of the artificial rock formation to create more space, they couldn't get him out.
"Mommy, Daddy, help me..." Jerrold's voice was weak, his eyes were red and filled with tears, looking pitifully at Lilah, who was on the verge of collapse in the crowd.
Her heart ached instantly, wanting to rush forward but was held back by Miranda.
"Sis, your heartbeat is unstable, it's not good for the child.
Don't worry, your brother-in-law will find a way," Miranda whispered in her ear.
"It's okay, Daddy and Mommy are both here," Gerard reassured Jerrold. "Good boy, Daddy might have to break this opening.
Just like before, cover your mouth and nose and close your eyes, okay?"
Jerrold nodded, somewhat understanding.
Gerard had several different-sized hammers brought over and personally began to gently break the stones.
After half an hour of effort, he finally managed to create a small opening.
"It's done," he said, waving away the dust and reaching in to grasp Jerrold's soft wrist.
Finally, they managed to rescue him.
Everyone around breathed a sigh of relief.
"Are you okay? Were you stung by a scorpion?" Lilah hurried forward to check her son.
Jerrold's face was very pale, and he stared intently at Lilah's anxious face, tears sprang to his eyes.
"Mommy..." he cried, throwing himself into Lilah's arms. She quickly checked his injury and saw a bruise on his bottom.
He had been stung!
Lilah couldn't focus on comforting him anymore and urgently asked Gerard to carry the child to the doctor for treatment.
Jerrold was so frightened that he even had nightmares in his sleep.
