"Hey, sis, look over there. That guy is so tall, and he kind of resembles your husband," Miranda whispered to Lilah, tugging at her sleeve.

Following Miranda's gaze, Lilah spotted a man in a black suit, quietly sipping his drink on the sidelines.

He appeared to be around twenty-eight or twenty-nine, exuding a maturity that set him apart from the others.

"He doesn't seem to be here for the party; he looks uptight and business-like," Miranda chuckled. Lilah nodded in agreement.

"I think so too. Where does Lady Brenda find all these quality men? She's really full of surprises."

Miranda took a sip of her chilled drink. "Sis, I feel like I was a bit pretentious before. Maybe I should have taken advantage of my carefree days of youth to fall in love instead of immersing myself in medical studies and ending up tangled with Cason..."

"Uh-huh!" Lilah coughed softly.

Miranda patted her back and continued, "I feel like Cason's gotten a bit stale. He used to be so cool and handsome, with a touch of arrogance. Now he's always clinging to me, no excitement at all. Sis, do you ever feel that way about your husband?

I remember he used to be quite the aloof guy too." Lilah quickly interjected, "No, no, no... I don't feel that way at all. Even when your brother-in-law is eighty, he'll still be the most handsome to me, unmatched by anyone, truly."

She said this while frantically signaling Miranda with her eyes.

Miranda finally realized something was off, but it was too late.

"I'm stale? I lack excitement?" Cason's voice, filled with annoyance and hurt, came from behind them. Miranda's face froze.

Turning around, she saw Cason storming off.

She wanted to chase after him and explain, but seeing his dejected figure, she lost the motivation.

"What's wrong? Aren't you going to chase him? Otherwise, he'll be complaining to Jerrold again, and then Jerrold will be clinging to your leg, begging you to be nicer to Cason. Can you handle that scene?" Lilah teased, barely suppressing her laughter.

Miranda was speechless.

After a moment of thought, she quietly followed after Cason.

"Do you think I'm stale? Do I still excite you?" Gerard suddenly asked.

Lilah was at a loss.

She never expected the renowned Mr. Harris to be so insecure.

She took his hand and sat him down. "What are you talking about?

We just got married. How could I be bored?"

Boredom was impossible, not in this lifetime.

Gerard looked at her, half-believing, half-doubting.
