Her voice was so low that only the two of them could hear, as if she was afraid Gerard might get jealous.
Livia played along, showing no signs of interest on her face, but she sneaked a glance at the man Lilah mentioned.
One look was all it took. Her heart was racing wildly, as if a nest of rabbits was bouncing around in her chest, each one popping up as soon as she tried to calm them down.
The man wasn't conventionally handsome, but he had an undeniable charisma. His dignified and scholarly presence was unmistakable, even standing quietly with a drink.
Lilah noticed Livia's reaction and understood immediately.
Just as she was about to speak, a sudden burst of loud barking came rushing towards them, the sound growing closer at an alarming speed.
Lilah instinctively pulled Livia behind her, shielding her, forgetting that she was pregnant and her belly had already grown quite large.
The dog was huge, and as it charged towards them, everyone screamed in fright. Brenda was terrified, her face turning pale as she trembled.
Fortunately, Gerard quickly grabbed a bottle from the table and used it to fend off the dog.
The barking intensified, and chaos ensued. Meanwhile, Lilah felt a tightening in her belly, and she wasn't feeling well at all.
"Sis, are you okay?" Livia asked, her face pale with fear, wanting to call for help, but the scene was too chaotic.
At the critical moment, a tall and slender figure dashed over from the side, helping Gerard subdue the vicious dog. The dog was ferocious, and in a swift turn, it sank its teeth into the Man's arm.
Lilah and Livia, standing close by, both gasped at the sight of the alarming wound on the man's wrist.
Yet, the man remained calm, firmly pressing down on the dog's neck, allowing Gerard to tie it up.
The terrifying crisis finally came to an end.
Brenda said, "Gerard, quickly take Lilah to see a doctor!"
At this moment, Lilah's face was pale. Despite her efforts to steady her breathing, her stomach was still in discomfort.
Gerard didn't dare delay and immediately picked up Lilah, heading towards the living room.
Meanwhile, Miranda and Cason, having heard the news, rushed over. They reassured the guests, inviting them to rest in the guest rooms, promising an explanation once the investigation was complete.
"Are you alright? My sister can treat wounds. Would you like her to take a look?" Livia suggested, glancing at the man's injured arm and then at Miranda.
"Thank you, the man replied, his expression finally showing some change, revealing he wasn't made of steel.
"Follow me," Miranda said with a knowing smile, sizing up the man before glancing at Livia, quickly sensing a budding romance.
"May I ask your name?" Miranda inquired.
Livia perked up, eager to listen.
