"What do you think? Do you like him?" Lilah asked.
From what Lilah knew of Livia, it was likely she had some feelings for Zhou Yuechuan. After all, Livia had lacked fatherly love growing up, and finding an older man to care for her wasn't unreasonable.
Sure enough, Livia lowered her head, shyly biting her lip.
Lilah understood immediately. Livia didn't dislike Zhou Yuechuan, but she wasn't thrilled about his straightforwardness.
She still held onto the fantasy of a normal, intimate relationship.
"Livia, I don't know much about Zhou Yuechuan, but you could try getting to know him better, starting as friends. I think you should take your time before deciding. Observe him more, or perhaps let Brenda give you some advice," Lilah advised sincerely.
Livia nodded, still processing.
Later, Brenda invited Zhou's mother over for a visit, giving Lilah a chance to finally get out and socialize a bit.
The living room was buzzing with lively conversation, except for a man and a woman sitting silently in the corner.
Lilah sat beside Brenda, glancing at Livia before turning her gaze to Mr. Zhou.
To be fair, Zhou Yuechuan was quite handsome, with a cool and aloof demeanor that didn't pale in comparison to Gerard and Cason. In fact, his mature and steady presence set him apart.
"Big sis, I'm starting to realize that Cason is just a big kid,"
Miranda whispered.
Lilah couldn't help but chuckle.
"You two are a perfect match-opposites attract."
Miranda pouted, about to speak, but noticed Cason looking at her with a wounded expression, as if to say, "With so many people around, why are you talking bad about me again?"
Miranda shot him a glare and closed her mouth.
The adults from both families were having a lively conversation, which eventually turned to the two young people set up for a date.
"My grandson here, despite his age, has never had a girlfriend, which worries us to no end. He's got looks, is in great shape, and has capability—he even owns his own pharmaceutical company.
But for some reason, he just hasn't settled down..."
As she spoke, she occasionally glanced at Livia, finding the quiet girl sitting there to be well-behaved and sensible.
After all, what parent doesn't like a well-mannered girl?
"Our Livia is just starting out, but she's driven and eager to learn. She's been learning design from me, and I plan to entrust her with running Brenlla in the future. I have high hopes for her, but I also wish for her to find a suitable life partner. That's why I want her to take her time and choose carefully. If there's someone suitable, she should go for it,"
Brenda said with a smile, though she didn't spell everything out.
