Lilah slowly opened her eyes, instinctively reaching for the space beside her.

The bathroom door opened, and she turned her head to see Gerard walking towards her.

"Did I wake you?"

Gerard asked as he sat down on the edge of the bed, gently tucking a strand of hair behind her ear and planting a kiss on her forehead.

Lilah shook her head slightly, wrapping her arms around his neck and gazing at him with adoration.

It's often said that marriage can dull a man's charm, but Lilah found Gerard more captivating than ever.

His allure seemed to grow, making her more addicted to him with each passing day.

Pregnancy had made Lilah more tender, and Gerard noticed her newfound clinginess.

Like now, she rarely held onto him like this, refusing to let go, her lips brushing against his repeatedly. Not that he minded, of course.

"If you're not sleepy, how about joining me for breakfast?"

Gerard's deep, magnetic voice resonated in her ears, and Lilah couldn't resist. "Sure, darling," she replied.

Ten minutes later, Lilah was ready, and Gerard carried her to the dining table.

Jerrold, their little one, was getting ready for school and hadn't left yet.

Seeing his parents come down, his usually cool and composed expression softened slightly.

He turned and went into the kitchen, returning with a fresh breakfast for Lilah.

"Mom, eat your breakfast while it's hot, and make sure to finish your milk," he said, his angelic face delivering such heartwarming words that Lilah's heart melted. She pulled Jerrold into a hug and kissed his cheek.

"Thank you, sweetheart. Mommy will finish everything!"

Gerard, seated nearby, noticed Jerrold's ears turning red despite his unchanged expression.

He instructed the butler, "It's about time. Please take the young master to school."

The warm moment between mother and son was thus interrupted.

After Jerrold left, Lilah couldn't help but glance at Gerard.

"What, are you jealous of your own son?"

Gerard cut up the breakfast in front of Lilah, raising an eyebrow. "Weren't you supposed to have breakfast with me?"

Even for his own son, he wouldn't budge.
