Lin Lang wasn't clueless—he knew this project had progressed partly because of Catherine. The Lin family had even mentioned her involvement directly.

A capable assistant who could solve both work problems and emotional dilemmas-why hadn't Lin Lang ever encountered someone like her?

"Honestly, Jerrold, if you've fallen for your assistant, there's no shame in admitting it. I think she's pretty great."

Jerrold shot him a cold look, his warning clear.

"We're just boss and subordinate."

"Not your Lover?" Lin Lang clearly didn't believe him.

But Jerrold's calm demeanor made it seem like he wasn't lying.

Lin Lang's eyes darted mischievously as he proposed, "If she's not involved with you, then maybe I should consider asking her out. I've decided-I'm going to win her over!"

Jerrold's hand froze mid-motion. This time, he didn't respond.

Lin Lang was a master of reading people, and Jerrold's subtle reaction didn't escape his notice.

Clapping his hands in triumph, Lin Lang grinned. "See? You're reluctant to let her go!" "If that's the case, I won't interfere. But you'd better act fast before someone else steals her away. Remember, you're not the only one who finds her appealing."

Patting Jerrold on the shoulder, Lin Lang left the room.

After he was gone, Jerrold found himself drifting toward the window. Across the way, Catherine was chatting with her colleagues, her presence standing out effortlessly, exuding both confidence and charm.

Just as Lin Lang had said, she truly was remarkable. If it hadn't been for that twist of fate, Jerrold wouldn't have met her.

His gaze softened as he lowered his eyes, acknowledging his feelings for the first time.

Until now, he had never entertained the idea of pursuing a romantic relationship with anyone. But meeting Catherine had changed him-his heart had made the decision before his mind could even catch up.

Throughout the day, Catherine couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching her. Whenever she turned around, there was nothing there.

Shaking her head, she wondered if she was just imagining things.

Catherine had resolved the issue with Manager Wu, and it was time to move on. She made herself a cup of coffee, regaining her composure and focus.

After work, as usual, she prepared to head home. But this time, Jerrold's car stopped right in front of her.

To her surprise, it wasn't his assistant driving. Jerrold was behind the wheel himself.

"Get in, " he said simply.

Jerrold personally drove Catherine to the hospital, showing a quiet but deliberate sense of care, before returning home himself.

From that day forward, Jerrold started bringing Catherine breakfast every morning. He even made a habit of driving her home or to the hospital after work.
