However, Jerrold did not deny it. In fact, he nodded slightly, as if confirming her statement. "You're not wrong to think that."

"What?"

Catherine was utterly stunned.

Never in her wildest dreams had she imagined that someone like the CEO, her boss, would have feelings for her.

Perhaps her reaction was too dramatic, as Jerrold seemed to realize something was amiss.

"I have a meeting to attend. Finish your breakfast, and don't overthink it." With that, he turned and left.

But how could Catherine possibly eat now?

She Looked at the food in front of her, then at the flowers and the gift on her desk.

She felt completely dazed, as though she were in a dream.

This must be a dream.

She shook herself out of her thoughts and left the CEO's office.

Walking down the corridor, Catherine placed a hand over her chest, trying to calm her racing heart.

Just then, Nigel appeared from the opposite direction and paused when he noticed her gesture. "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

"No, no, no.."" Seeing Nigel was Like seeing a lifeline.

As Jerrold's personal assistant, Nigel was with him every day. Surely, he would know if the CEO was joking... right?

After hesitating for a moment, Catherine cautiously asked, "I'm fine physically. It's just.. um, about the flowers on my desk. Mr. Harris said he sent them?"

Nigel saw the unease in her expression and couldn't help but chuckle.

"Yes, the CEO personally picked them out. What do you think? Not bad taste, huh?"

Oh...

Catherine forced a smile, trying to make it look less stiff.

But no matter how strained her smile was, it couldn't compare to how stiff her entire body felt.

Nigel glanced back at her awkward steps as she walked away, nodding to himself in satisfaction. It seemed the CEO's new approach to wooing someone was quite effective—just look at how overjoyed Catherine was!

Except, Catherine felt as though her entire world had been turned upside down.

Did she like Jerrold? There was no doubt that she did.
