"Yes, what's going on?"

Rufus glanced at the equally bewildered Harris family, pressed a hand to his forehead, and sighed. "President Harris has always been in love with Catherine. We all thought she was the one he was going to marry."

"But Catherine has already resigned and left, " he added with a grim expression.

"This..."

Everyone exchanged stunned glances, unsure of what to say.

In the end, Lilah was the first to react.

"Come on, let's help Jerrold get her back!"

"Yes, yes, I'll notify everyone right away. The engagement party is canceled!"

Seeing that the Harris family wasn't placing blame on Catherine for the mix-up, Rufus let out a small sigh of relief. He quickly pulled out his phone and started contacting people to assist. ---

At the international airport, Catherine pushed her luggage forward, weaving through the crowd of passengers disembarking from their flights.

She lowered her head to check her ticket, only to accidentally bump into someone.

"Oh my, I'm so sorry!" A young woman's voice rang out. The girl quickly turned to her with concern. "Are you okay?"

Catherine shook her head and looked up, her eyes landing on the girl's face. For a moment, she was dazed.

She was leaving this place for good, and yet she thought the girl bore an uncanny resemblance to Jerrold.

Unbeknownst to her, the girl—Jerrold's cousin-was also scrutinizing Catherine. Something about her felt oddly familiar. The girl smiled and let go of Catherine's arm. As she glanced down, her eyes caught sight of a red string bracelet on Catherine's wrist.

"You have one of these too, " the girl said with a touch of surprise.

"What a coincidence! My brother used to have one just Like that!"

Catherine smiled faintly. She remembered hearing as a child that matching red string bracelets could bind two people together, no matter the distance between them.

Thinking back now, she realized only children would believe in such things.

Without saying much more, Catherine found her seat and waited for her flight.

Jerrold's cousin, clutching her companion's hand, took a few steps forward before glancing back at where Catherine was sitting. ---

Meanwhile, Jerrold was still trying to call Catherine, but no matter how many times he dialed, her phone remained unreachable.

Nearby, the girl, still holding her companion's hand, complained, "Why hasn't anyone come to pick us up yet? We rushed back, and now we're stranded here!" Just then, she looked up and saw Jerrold walking past in a hurry, his expression more anxious than she'd ever seen.

"Big Brother!" she called out, running over to him.
