Behind her, three people had appeared at some point: Jerrold and the young couple she had accidentally bumped into earlier.

"Bro, you and sis go talk. We'll wait for you in the car, " said Jerrold's younger brother, Yuki, as he walked right up to Catherine.

"Hey, sister-in-law, there must be some misunderstanding between you and my brother. He came all the way here to find you. Please, talk things out, okay? We'll take your suitcase to the car for you!"

Without waiting for her response, Yuki grabbed her suitcase and hurried off with his wife, Claire.

"Brother? Sister-in-Law?"

"Yeah, she's my younger sister, Yuki. And her husband, my brother-in-Law, Claire, " Jerrold explained.

Catherine blinked in surprise, taken aback by their relationship and even more so by how Yuki had addressed her just moments ago.

Mr. Harris was supposed to be engaged to that Su woman, wasn't he?

So why was he here looking for her?

Although Catherine didn't say a word, the questions in her eyes were unmistakable to Jerrold.

"Catherine, there's something I need to tell you."

"I Like you, and you're the one I want to marry. It's my fault for not making things clear earlier, causing both you and my family to misunderstand. That's on me."

"I've already called off the engagement banquet. Now, I want to ask you-do you like me? Will you marry me?"

Jerrold's words were unusually direct, a stark contrast to his usual reserved demeanor.

But after everything that had happened, he realized one thing:

Some feelings, some words, needed to be expressed clearly and unequivocally. Only then could misunderstandings and pain be avoided.

The sincerity and intensity in Jerrold's eyes caught Catherine off guard. She hadn't expected that behind everything was nothing more than a misunderstanding.

No deception, no insincerity—-her anguish and heartbreak had all stemmed from assumptions she'd made herself.

Catherine's lips moved, as if she wanted to say something, but tears began to fall before she could stop them.

Then, unexpectedly, she started Laughing.

For a moment, Jerrold thought she was about to accept his proposal. But just as he was about to breathe a sigh of relief, Catherine wiped her tears away and said, "Before I answer you, there's something I need to tell you too."

"The real reason I chose to leave was—"

"Mr. Harris—"

Assistant Zhang came running up, panting heavily and holding a phone that was currently on a call.
