Without hesitation, Lilah finalized her discharge papers and headed home.

By the time they reached, it was nearly dawn, seven hours later.

Brenda, eyes red and weary, was still awake. She grasped Lilah's hand, asking, “Lilah, are you okay?"

"I'm fine. Where's Jerrold?"

"He came home after school two days ago. But when I knocked at his room door that night, there was no answer. I assumed he was asleep.

The next morning, his room was empty. I checked our security footage and found he'd left secretly."

Brenda's eyes welled up. “It's my doing. I should've noticed sooner.

I've been searching for a whole day without any luck. I can't bear the thought of anything happening to him."

Lilah gently said, “We'll find him. Jerrold's smart. He wouldn't do anything reckless.

Brenda nodded, tears flowing.

Gerard rallied the Harris family's security team to aid in the search.

He then turned to Brenda and Lilah. "Mom, Lilah, you both should rest. I'll let you know the moment we find Jerrold."

"Okay."

They both knew they'd only slow Gerard down.

So, they waited, the hours crawling by, filling the Harris family residence with palpable tension.

By 9 a.m. the following day, news came in-Jerrold was at Starlight Mansion.

Nobody expected him to be there.

Upon arrival, they saw Jerrold on the rooftop.

The sight of them made him rush to the edge, nearly toppling over.

"Jerrold!" Brenda's voice quivered, echoing with fear and desperation.

“Come back, please!"

Lilah, with tears brimming, pleaded, “Jerrold, what made you leave?"

His eyes, bloodshot and swollen, met Lilah's. Though silent, they spoke volumes of remorse and anxiety.

Jerrold seemed distant, lost in his thoughts, pushing away any attempts to reach him.
