At a certain table, a waiter was being rudely treated by a group of customers.
The waiter was certainly no spring chicken, but his broad shoulders and mature appearance were enough to attract young women.
He started to leave, but a girl stopped him and insisted on getting his contact information.
The waiter refused to give it to her, much to the girl's annoyance.
"Do you know who I am? You're just a waiter here. How dare you act so haughtily?" The girl then angrily demanded, "Call your manager.
I'll let him know how terrible he is at managing his staff."
"Miss, he's a waiter. He can get you two men if you really need them,”
Lilah chimed in, glaring at the girl.
Everyone around them immediately grasped what she was implying.
The girl's face flushed red at once. "You! Who are you? Do you think you have the right to speak to me?"
“I'm also a customer here. I just can't stand by and do nothing while you harass a waiter," Lilah replied mildly.
The booth's occupants were intently watching everything unfold.
“Lilah is really kind. How courageous of her to help the waiter!"
Walter laughed awkwardly in an attempt to disperse the suffocating atmosphere. However, his comment did little to alleviate the tension but increased it.
Bryan tapped him on the shoulder to stop him from spouting any more nonsense.
Immediately, Walter made a zipping motion on his Lips.
He wondered if his first meeting with Lilah would start with him witnessing her cheat on Gerard.
The thought made him shudder. He did not want to be killed by the murderous aura Gerard was exuding.
After shooing the girl away, Lilah led the waiter to her table. The waiter brought her a bottle, and he lingered for a while. They seemed to be having a conversation.
Eventually, the waiter left.
Shortly after, Lilah got up and departed as well.
With a loud bang, the glass in Gerard's hand shattered into pieces.
"Gerard!" Walter exclaimed, trembling in fear.
Lilah was courageous, indeed.
