Regina and Matthew, leading the group, made a beeline for the elevator.

Upon learning that Lilah had been released thanks to Gerard's influence, Matthew expressed, "Regina, our failure to guide our daughter properly has led to this. She must make amends."

“Our family's first grandchild was taken from us, and Lilah's heartlessness knows no bounds," Regina retorted bitterly.

"I never imagined Lilah could turn out this way," lamented Matthew, his voice heavy with sorrow.

Arriving at the CEO's office, Regina was about to forcibly enter, only to find the door already open.

Seated behind the lavish desk was Lilah, exuding an air of icy regality. "You all seem rather oblivious to the law," she remarked coolly. "Breaking and entering isn't permitted."

"Speaking of the law, aren't you more oblivious to it, considering your deeds? You took a life. You should be facing consequences, not sitting here," Regina snapped.

“Where's your proof that I was responsible?"

Matthew interjected, his voice filled with disappointment, "It was just you and Adaline present. Who else could it be if not you, Lilah?

Own up to your actions. Apologize, and perhaps Regina will show you leniency."

Lilah responded, "I won't be offering an apology."

Regina thought it was audacious of Lilah to show such conviction despite being in the wrong. Quaking with anger, she glanced toward Matthew.

Matthew was mortified. How had he raised such a defiant daughter?

“Is it the backing of the Harris family that makes you this arrogant?

Do you honestly believe they'd embrace someone of your reputation as a family member?" he chided.

Lilah absorbed the rebuke from her own father. In the past, such words would've shattered her spirit. But now, she felt nothing, entirely desensitized. Matthew was hardly fit to be called a father.

On Regina's cue, reporters in tow prepared their cameras inside the office. “If you won't express remorse, we'll simply wait. Let the world witness the audacity of a killer," Regina declared.

Lilah, unfazed, continued her work.

Feeling deeply humiliated, Matthew approached Lilah and hissed, “What will it take for you to see sense? Are you intent on disgracing the Phillips name?"

“I haven't brought any disgrace upon the Phillips family," Lilah retorted.

"You're still in denial. Apologize! Don't you see the rebuke you're facing online? Have you lost all sense of decency and shame?" Matthew, in a desperate attempt, grabbed Lilah's hand, trying to force her to apologize on camera.

She briskly pulled away, staring him down. “I'm telling you, I will never apologize."

Matthew's rage manifested physically, and clutching his chest, he appeared to be in distress.

Onlookers and netizens watched the unfolding drama, their faith in Lilah waning. Previously, they had viewed Lilah as a national icon, someone who had stood tall against Fauwille's criticisms. Yet, no amount of talent could overshadow questions about her character.
