He uttered these words while casting an almost imperceptible look of apprehension in Gerard's direction.

If Lilah remained oblivious to the situation at this point, one might question her grasp on reality.

“Very well, we'll take our leave once your assistant returns," Lilah reluctantly concurred.

The assistant promptly reappeared and Lilah had no choice but to depart for the time being.

During the journey back, Lilah remained in silence, her gaze fixed straight ahead.

The car was enveloped in a somber and muted atmosphere.

Finally, a stern and chilly voice shattered the quiet. "I didn't do anything to Andrew."

Lilah let out a soft, contemplative sigh and spoke with gentle earnestness.

"I sincerely hope you perceive the true nature of the connection between Andrew and me. The hug, you see, was merely a customary greeting. If it unsettles you in any way, rest assured, I shall exercise greater discretion in future."

Gerard, his response equally composed, assured her, "I don't take offense, I completely understand."

Nevertheless, he felt compelled to clarify matters concerning Andrew, stating with conviction, "I want to make it clear, I never laid a hand on Andrew."

Lilah remained composed, her demeanor inscrutable, as she simply responded, “Okay.”

For the first time in their interaction, Gerard was gripped by a sense of frustration; it appeared that this Andrew character was harboring ulterior motives.

Upon their return to Starlight Mansion and approaching their apartments, Gerard harbored the desire to share a kiss with Lilah.

However, much to his disappointment, Lilah entered her apartment without uttering a word.

For the first time, Gerard felt a pang of injustice; he yearned to remind Lilah that she had yet to bestow upon him his birthday gift.

Now, he had no choice but to defer his anticipation until the following day.

When Lilah returned to her apartment, the birthday gift suddenly struck her. However, as her hand delved into her bag, her heart sank upon the realization that the box was nowhere to be found.

Puzzlement washed over her, for she was certain she had placed it securely in her bag.

Could it have been inadvertently left behind in either Andrew's or Gerard's vehicles? Her decision was made; she would first reach out to Andrew for clarification.

“Very well, I'll dispatch my assistant to investigate shortly,"

Andrew consented.

With that matter attended to, Lilah prepared herself for a night's rest.

Morning arrived.
