"Of course," Lilah responded, intrigued.

"Next week, Jerrold's kindergarten has a spring outing planned. Due to certain commitments, I might not be able to accompany him," Gerard explained.

"You'd Like me to accompany him?" Lilah inferred, a gentle smile playing on her lips. “I'd be happy to."

“As a token of my appreciation, perhaps you'd join us for breakfast from now on," Gerard offered, his eyes reflecting a glimmer of joy.

While Lilah possessed a flair for design, her culinary skills were notoriously lacking. The prospect of having breakfast prepared for her was genuinely appealing.

"That sounds lovely. Consider it a deal," Lilah affirmed.

Seeing the two were ignoring him, Jerrold tugged Lilah by the hand and led her toward his room.

The duo engaged in a playful building block session, and as the evening wore on, Lilah gently lulled Jerrold into a peaceful slumber, delicately tucking him into bed.

As she exited the room, her eyes inadvertently landed on Gerard, fresh out of a shower. His toned body, with its sculpted abs and robust muscles, spoke of dedication and discipline. Lilah found herself unable to take her eyes off him.

Lilah was momentarily stunned.

It was only when Gerard approached her, the warmth of his presence enveloping her, that she found her voice. Their eyes met, and his held a playful glint. “Do you approve?"

“You... um, you're in great shape," Lilah stammered, attempting to maintain her composure. “It's getting late, and Jerrold is asleep. I should head out."

She tried to walk away with a semblance of dignity, but the blush on her cheeks betrayed her. Gerard, amused, watched her with a hint of a smirk.

Suddenly, his leg extended, blocking her way. She nearly bumped into him, the warmth of his presence close and overwhelming. Confused, she met his gaze.

“What do you prefer for breakfast, Miss Phillips?"

“Just something simple is fine," Lilah replied.

Acknowledging her answer, Gerard moved to open the door for her.

“Good night," he murmured as she left.

His voice was rich and resonant, reminiscent of a beautifully played bass instrument. She couldn't resist looking back and replying, “Good night."

Once she was gone, Gerard rested against the doorframe, a smile tugging at his Lips.

For those familiar with the stoic, no-nonsense CEO, this sight would be a shock. Gerard seemed transformed by a simple exchange.

The night passed tranquilly.

Come morning, a message from Gerard greeted Lilah. "Breakfast is ready. Come over when you're up."

The prospect of a prepared breakfast upon waking up was too tempting to resist. After freshening up, Lilah knocked on the neighboring door.
