"I wanted to check on you. Make sure Gerard hasn't caused any trouble since yesterday's meeting," Andrew responded, a tone of concern in his voice.
"He's quite understanding, don't worry," Lilah reassured him.
Andrew just smiled, seemingly unconvinced.
Then, looking a bit suspicious, he probed, “Are you going out for lunch? Where to?"
"I'm meeting Gerard for lunch," Lilah shared candidly.
Andrew's eyebrow quirked up, and a mischievous grin spread across his face. "Oh? Are you two that inseparable now? You even need to have lunch together?"
He pondered how a busy CEO like Gerard could spare time for lunch dates instead of dealing with company matters.
Lilah elaborated, “He's had an accident and is having trouble eating.
Also, if you're free tomorrow, I can show you around Eleywood."
Andrew's interest in his earlier teasing faded instantly. "Alright, that sounds good."
At the Harris Group headquarters, Gerard was efficiently sorting through a stack of documents, his pace reflecting years of experience and decisiveness.
Calvin stood nearby, ready to assist.
Having swiftly completed his review, Gerard was about to hand the documents to Calvin when the latter inquired, “Mr. Harris, how is your arm doing?"
“It's manageable," Gerard responded with a dismissive coolness. He was slightly startled when the office door swung open unexpectedly.
He frowned at the interruption, but the next instant, his concentration broke when he saw the familiar figure, causing a few documents to slip from his grip.
Calvin, wide-eyed, watched in disbelief. He hadn't reached out to take the documents yet, so their falling seemed unusual.
Quick to shoulder the responsibility, Calvin apologized, "I'm sorry, Mr. Harris. That was my fault. I should have been quicker."
Behind Calvin, Lilah quietly gathered the scattered papers. Then, she expressed her worry. "You shouldn't be straining your hand with heavy paperwork, Gerard. It might worsen the injury and delay healing."
Calvin was puzzled. The papers weren't particularly heavy, and Gerard handling them was routine. Was Lilah's concern excessive?
"Understood," Gerard acquiesced mildly.
Lilah's face brightened. "I've brought Lunch. Can you take a break to eat with me?"
"I can now," Gerard assured her, his tone tender but sending a discreet, firm glance toward Calvin, who silently exited the room and discreetly canceled Gerard's scheduled business lunch.
During their lunch, Lilah carefully fed Gerard and afterward, inspected his injury, relieved to find no infection.
“It should heal soon," she observed happily.
