Gerard looked at the stain and then at Lilah. Then without a word, he suddenly stretched out his hand.

Andrew's heart skipped a beat. He had not really expected Gerard to resort to violence. Could his obsession with cleanliness be as severe as rumors suggested? Immediately, Andrew thought about protecting Lilah.

But to his surprise, Gerard's hand only landed on her head, patting it gently. His voice was deep and tender as he said, “It's fine. We can wash it later."

Then he took off his jacket, revealing a white T-shirt underneath. He now looked even more refined and elegant.

Lilah's lips curled into a smile. "Alright then. I'll wash it for you when we get back," she promised.

“Don't worry about it. I'll have the housekeeper do it later.

Remember, you're my precious girlfriend," Gerard —replied affectionately.

Andrew, who had been standing off to the side, wore a thoughtful expression as he observed the two. Then, throughout the rest of the journey, he mostly kept silent.

Gerard chose one of the most well-known restaurants in Eleywood for lunch. They were escorted to the VIP private room upon arrival, as befitting Gerard's status.

After placing an order, Gerard passed the menu to Andrew.

"Let's have Lilah decide what she wants to eat first. What do you want, Lilah?" Andrew saw his chance and seized it without delay. The other guy did not seem to give a hoot about what Lilah liked or did not like. People at the top could be tyrannical like that.

The sight of the ticked order on the menu, however, caused Andrew to pause. Gerard had ordered almost all of Lilah's favorite dishes.

Over the course of their many years together as friends, he had come to understand Lilah's preferences. How long had she and Gerard known each other for him to know what her favorite food was?

Lilah waved her hand dismissively. "It's fine. Gerard and I pretty much have the same taste, so I usually enjoy whatever he orders."

A frown formed on Andrew's face. He felt like a wilted flower that had been plucked from the ground. He randomly ordered a couple of dishes and then went silent afterward.

The reality was too different from what he had expected.

Andrew observed Gerard intently during the meal. The latter placed food on Lilah's plate and poured her a glass of water. Who would have guessed that such a prominent man in society could also be a caring boyfriend?

Andrew had never seen Lilah with such a serene and peaceful expression on her beautiful face until now.

When Lilah started feeding Gerard, Andrew gaped at the couple.

"His right arm is injured, so it's hard for him to eat by himself," she explained.

Andrew was at a loss for words. Did the man not have his left hand?

His left hand was completely functional, was it not?

Gradually, Andrew's earlier assumptions began to fall to pieces.

It seemed that Gerard was really treating Lilah well.
