But the more normal she was, the more uneasy Gerard felt.

Gerard was quite familiar with the area. So, after they'd finished their meal, he took them to some special and interesting scenic spots.

Before long, Lilah was beginning to smile again.

Later in the evening, after they had gotten tired from playing throughout the day, they booked a family suite.

After Jerrold had been tucked in bed, the expression on Lilah's face immediately went back to being cold. When Gerard noticed this, he hugged her.

"Babe, if you are unhappy, you can hit me, scold me, or better still, tell me how to make you happy instead of just sulking. It will only make me worry about you," he told her in a tone that showed how much it pained him.

"Gerard, you should know I hate lies," Lilah replied in a cold voice.

"I never thought about lying to you. This time, I was really delayed by some matters, I swear," Gerard insisted.

"I'm not talking about this issue," Lilah murmured. After pausing for a moment, she suddenly asked, "Can I take Jerrold away?"

All day, the only thought that had been on her mind was that if she and Gerard were separated, she would certainly have to take Jerrold away.

She used to think her baby was dead. Now that she had a Living child, it still seemed like a wonderful dream for her. So she would never let him be separated from her.

“What do you mean by that?" Gerard asked, his handsome face now turning dark. He stared at Lilah with his eyes filled with both confusion and sadness. "Lilah, are you going to separate from me just because of this matter?"

Lilah didn't know what to say. She lowered her head and kept quiet.

After a while, she said to him, “Gerard, it's not about this matter."

“What is it about then?" he questioned.

“Where did you go yesterday?" Lilah asked him.

All of a sudden, the atmosphere in the room became tense. Even without looking at the expression on Gerard's face, Lilah knew that he would be shocked. She felt duped.

In the past, she really had thought that Gerard was a good man. He even helped her heal from the emotional problems she had.

Hence, she had been determined to spend the rest of her life with him.

Even if everyone doubted the prospects of their relationship, she vowed that she would try her best to stand by his side.

But... judging from what had been happening, had she not been a fool?

She waited for Gerard to get angry, but his voice remained calm as he replied, "Yesterday when I got off the plane, my plan was to see you immediately, but I never expected that I would run into Walter.

He told me that Laura had woken up. You know, she had been in a coma for seven years. So, when I heard this news, I went with him to the hospital. As soon as I left the hospital, I immediately called you."

Lilah was stunned for a moment. She never expected that Gerard would be so honest about it. She didn't know what to say in response.
