Walter suddenly suggested, excitement and curiosity brimming in his eyes.
Lilah pursed her lips as she stared at Gerard. Then she looked at his perfect score.
He had hit the bull's eye every single time. It was a little scary, but now, she wanted to take the challenge.
"Sure," she said, and then looked back at Gerard with a smile. "What do you say?"
"Why not?" Gerard equally agreed.
They both stood in front of different targets and started shooting arrows one after the other.
They kept hitting the tenth ring, and Walter kept praising and cheering them from the side.
When they shot the third arrow, Gerard hit the ninth ring while Lilah got the perfect score once again.
"I lost," Gerard admitted. He looked at Lilah, a hint of a smile playing deep within his eyes.
"Don't worry. There'll be a next time," she equally smiled.
Walter, however, felt like something was wrong.
Gerard always hit the perfect spot. No matter how far he was, he would always get the full score. How could he lose? It all made sense after Walter saw the smile on Gerard's handsome face. Men could really be unreasonable when they were in love.
Walter sighed helplessly at the sight of his friend deliberately losing to his beloved woman.
Beside him, Bryan, who also saw this, just raised a brow.
Having enough fun in the archery hall, they went to pick up Jerrold before proceeding to another activity.
When they got there, the children were diligently receiving archery lessons from their coaches. Their stances were precise and impressive.
"Children nowadays are truly remarkable," Marlene commented as she watched the children practicing archery.
"Indeed. Many of them have been learning different skills from their young age," Laura replied softly.
Jerrold and the coach soon started walking toward them. However, the coach wore a gloomy expression that wasn't very reassuring.
Marlene covered her mouth as if surprised. "Why does the coach look so grim? I hope it isn't because Jerrold has no archery talent."
Lilah shot her a cold glare to shut her up. Marlene smirked inwardly.
Lilah might be capable, but if she didn't take care and train Jerrold properly, then the Harris family wouldn't welcome her with open arms anymore.
So, she ignored Lilah's stern glare and continued provokingly, “Lilah, if you're so talented, then you should train Jerrold well. Children from prestigious families need to start training from a young age, especially Mr. Harris’ child. They ought to be more outstanding than other children since the beginning. You can't let the child grow up without any special talents."
Lilah ignored the woman and took Jerrold from the coach with a smile.
