The man's eyes widened in fear and panic.
Fifteen minutes later, he lay in a corner, motionless.
His whole being was in pain. He stared at this petite damned woman with resentment. He would Like to see how she would get out now.
Lilah casually walked to the door as he watched.
Bang!
She kicked the door hard and its hinges gave up, opening up for her.
The man's mouth dropped open in disbelief.
Looking at the door, he realized that the woman had just hit him lightly. When she turned around and looked at him, he curled up again and looked away in fear.
She was the devil!
In another room in the haunted house, Gerard and Laura finally found their task.
It was quite simple actually.
"You need to pretend to be a couple to fool the gatekeeper and get out."
Laura turned to Gerard and whined, “We're so unlucky. How can they give us such a task?"
Naturally, she was overjoyed in her heart. But when she looked at Gerard, his face had darkened. Laura bit her lower lip softly and said, "Why don't we just try?"
“Try what?"
"We won't be able to leave until we do what is asked."
"And how do you want to try it?" he asked calmly.
Laura blushed and suggested, "A couple normally holds hands and kisses. But since you have Lilah, we can't kiss each other. We can go to the door hand in hand, and then you hug me in front of the gatekeeper or give me a kiss on my forehead. I think that will be enough."
She sounded so reasonable that anyone listening to her would Like her for being so sensible.
Gerard sneered and made a strange sound in his throat.
Laura's face instantly paled. What was that reaction for?
"Sorry, I can't do that," he said curtly and added, "Besides, it's not good for your reputation to be intimate with a man who has a girlfriend."
Was he by any chance caring for her?
Entertaining this thought made Laura feel better. Still, she said, “It's just to complete the task. Besides, Lilah is still outside. She could be scared out there. We should hurry up and go find her."
