“Jerrold!"
Marlene expressed a hint of irritation.
Aware of the rumors about Jerrold's autism, Marlene found confirmation in his aloof behavior. He didn't even extend basic greetings.
“I'm your aunt. Why don't you say hello when you see your aunt?"
Marlene intercepted his path and remarked, "Is this how your mother typically instructs you at home?"
"My mother told me not to speak to bad people."
Jerrold maintained an impassive demeanor.
Marlene was on the verge of fury.
This little fellow rarely spoke, but when he did, he managed to infuriate people!
Marlene thought of something and she sighed suddenly. “Of course, your mother wishes you wouldn't talk to anyone because, in her heart, you're not her child; you belong to someone else, not her."
Jerrold felt a twinge of anger, his eyes slightly reddening as he stared at Marlene. Despite his diminutive stature, he emitted a powerful aura, momentarily startling Marlene.
Undeniably Gerard's child; even at such a tender age, he already mirrored his father's characteristics.
"Jerrold, everything I'm saying is true. Do you believe Lilah truly loves you? She's merely drawn to the influence of the Harris family.
When she has her own child with your father, will she still pay attention to you? Impossible. She'll only nurture her biological child and neglect you! So, she hopes you'll become an impolite and troublesome child!"
"Don't speak ill of my mother!" Jerrold exclaimed with intensity, his anger propelling him to forcefully push Marlene.
Unprepared for the sudden thrust, Marlene found herself on the floor, a hint of annoyance coloring her reaction. “You! Everything I said is true. Why won't you believe me? If you don't believe me, you'll regret it."
"You're a malevolent person, and I won't believe you," retorted Jerrold, his eyes reflecting wariness and displeasure.
This damn child! Marlene was exasperated.
Jerrold had undeniably become an unpleasant person under Lilah's education, a realization that fueled Marlene's malicious curse. "Just wait, Lilah will have a child, and the first thing she'll do is abandon you. You'll be an orphan. In the future, who will care about you... Ouch!"
Before Marlene could finish her words, she was abruptly pulled up from the floor and forcefully pushed into the wall, causing excruciating pain in her internal organs.
She beheld the person before her with unmistakable clarity, her eyes widening.
Lilah firmly gripped Jerrold's hand, casting a cold gaze at Marlene.
"Marlene, don't let me hear this again!"
"Am I mistaken? Lilah, you're really hypocritical!" Marlene remained defiant. As Lilah raised her hand, Marlene instantly recalled the two slaps she had endured before, her body trembling involuntarily.
