"Did Laura mention it?" Gerard asked.
"Yes. Why did you decide to do that?"
Gerard explained nonchalantly, "I helped them because Laura once saved my life. The assistance I've given them over the years is sufficient to repay that debt."
"I see." Lilah nodded in understanding. She then changed the subject, sharing her plans. “I'm going shopping after work. Would you like to join me?"
“Are you going to the Phillips Group's mall?"
"Yes, that's the one."
“Why don't you start without me? I'll be running late but can pick you up afterward," Gerard suggested.
Lilah agreed, her voice cheerful.
Later, Lilah arrived at the mall incognito, donning a cap and mask to blend in. She was there not just for leisure but also to gauge the quality of the mall's services.
As she walked, Lilah overheard two frustrated girls.
"I can't believe that store. It's just unacceptable," one complained.
"Yeah, I'd rather stay as I am than waste money there," the other added.
Curious, Lilah approached them. “Excuse me, which store are you referring to?"
“The eyebrow tattoo place on the second floor. They're ridiculous," one girl vented. “They lure you in with low prices, but then, halfway through, they demand more money to finish the job. It's outrageous."
"I understand. If you wish to file a complaint, I encourage you to contact mall management," Lilah advised the girls.
The girls shared a skeptical look. "But what if the mall is backing them? Will our complaint be taken seriously?"
“I believe it will," Lilah assured them confidently. "Write down your grievances and suggestions, and then drop them in the suggestion box over there."
The girls nodded, their resolve firm. "Alright, we'll do that."
Though skeptical about any real action being taken, they were eager to voice their dissatisfaction with the eyebrow tattoo store.
Lilah made her way to the store on the second floor. She noticed the prices listed were unusually low.
An assistant greeted her warmly, "Would you like an eyebrow tattoo?
I assure you, you'll love the results."
"Sure, I'll give it a try," Lilah agreed and entered.
The store insisted on payment upfront. Throughout the session, the artist tried to pry into Lilah's background, but she deflected the questions.
