Suddenly, the artist feigned concern. “Oh dear, your case is quite complex."
"How much more will it cost?" Lilah inquired.
"It'll be twelve hundred dollars," the artist replied, quoting a price double what was advertised.
Lilah responded calmly, "Then I'd rather not continue."
The artist, visibly irritated, tried to persuade her, "Your face shape is perfect for this. With the eyebrow tattoo, you'll look stunning. And twelve hundred isn't much; it's the price of a blouse.
You should treat yourself."
Lilah challenged, “Why advertise such low prices if you're unable to honor them?"
The artist backpedaled, “It's not that we can't do it. Your thin eyebrows make it more difficult. Pay the twelve hundred, and you'll love the result."
Lilah confronted her, "Aren't you aware that such business practices are forbidden in this mall? It's deceptive to customers."
The tattoo artist's expression soured. "What are you implying? I'm trying to help you. How is that fraud? If you don't want the service, then leave."
Lilah, irritated by her demeanor, noted the shoddy work on her eyebrows.
The artist, assuming Lilah would beg for a fix, waited smugly. But Lilah, unfazed, made a phone call.
“What are you doing?" the artist demanded.
"I'm reporting you," Lilah replied calmly.
The artist's eyes widened in disbelief, and her colleagues gathered around, curious about the unfolding drama.
"You're crazy! Who do you think you are to report us? If you're not happy, just leave," the artist blustered, unable to believe Lilah's audacity. She reached out to grab Lilah's arm, intending to escort her out.
But Lilah stood firm, unmoved by the artist's aggression.
“You're just looking for trouble, aren't you?" the artist accused, her temper flaring.
"You deceived me first," Lilah countered, her voice even and unflustered.
The tattoo artist's bravado escalated. "You should know, my oldest brother runs the gang around here. Report me, and your family will pay. Believe it or not?"
Lilah realized the source of the artist's confidence; she had a powerful backer. Unfazed, Lilah raised an eyebrow, dismissing the threat.
The mall manager soon arrived. After assessing the issue, the manager's displeasure was evident. “Gather your things. You're shutting down and leaving."
The tattoo artist protested, "Why should we? We've paid the rent for this store."
"Your business practices violate our mall's regulations. You have 24 hours to vacate," the manager stated firmly.
