Lilah knew very well how the mind of a hypocritical woman like Laura worked.

Although Gerard had already rejected her countless times, Laura didn't take any of it seriously.

Gerard nodded in agreement and deleted Laura's number from his phone.

With his eyes fixed on Lilah, he said solemnly, "You're the only woman in my heart, Lilah. No one will get in the way of our love."

Lilah flashed him a smile. He had proved himself trustworthy many times, and she felt secure. "Same here," she replied.

It was rare for Lilah to express her affection for him. Gerard's expression relaxed, his smile softening his sharp eyes. They reminded her of a starry night.

“Mommy, you are the only one in my heart, too," Jerrold chimed in.

"Yes, of course. My son is the best!" Lilah smiled from ear to ear.

She always felt joyful whenever she talked to Jerrold.

After their harmonious breakfast, a busy day commenced.

Meanwhile, Marlene was in a good mood when she woke up this morning.

She sat at her desk and began reading the sales data of the previous day, which had exceeded her previous expectations.

"Miss Phillips," the assistant whispered to her, “I heard that Lilah had promised the board of directors a profit of 5@ million dollars within six months. If she can't deliver, then she would be kicked out of the Phillips Group."

Marlene let out a mocking laughter. "Then she'll be certainly kicked out soon."

She didn't think that Lilah could make that much money in the time she had.

In her mind, she doubted that Lilah could even make 10 million!

"Of course. It's all thanks to your mother; she easily defeated them with just a selfie."

Although deep inside, the compliment delighted Marlene, she had to pretend to be humble. “My mother didn't say anything. Anyway, go back to your work."

“Okay, Miss Phillips."

After a while, Marlene called Tess and told her that she had good news. "It's only the beginning," Tess responded to the news with a chuckle.

"Mom, to us, they're nothing more than ants. We can crush them beneath our boots!" Marlene's Laugh grew more boisterous and arrogant.

ALL of a sudden, a message popped up on her laptop screen.

"Shocking News! The Truth of Ewing Happer's Plagiarism."

When Marlene saw the headline, her eyebrow raised. Curious, she opened the link, wondering what it was about. Perhaps Lilah was struggling.
