With just one glance, Lilah found the man increasingly headache-inducing.
Moments later, the bodyguards swiftly escorted the man away.
Lilah observed Gerard cautiously, uncertain whether anger simmered beneath his expression or not.
"Are you tired?" Gerard asked in a low voice.
"Yeah, a bit," Lilah nodded.
"You've worked really hard. Come on, get in the car."
Gerard was referring to his Rolls-Royce which was parked right there.
When Lilah got in, she saw delicious dishes arranged on the table inside. Instantly, her stomach began to growl. She hadn't realized that she was hungry until now.
“Wow. It smells so yummy," she said with a smile.
“Eat up then. You must be very hungry by now," Gerard urged her.
So Lilah picked up the cutlery and began to eat.
The food turned out to be just as delicious as it looked.
Gerard even peeled some shrimps and fed them to her. After eating them all, she took a sip of cola and felt like the happiest person in the world.
All her worries and fatigue had disappeared.
“After my mom learned that you're A Fond Dream, she began to urge everyone she knew to watch your works," Gerard said, with a hint of a smile in his eyes.
Lilah couldn't help but feel the need to apologize. “I didn't admit it earlier because I was waiting for today," she explained.
"Don't worry. My mom understands," Gerard assured her. But he didn't mention the fact that Brenda had scolded him for several minutes, telling him to take very good care of Lilah and not let her suffer.
His mother's words had made him feel as if he was not her biological child.
After the meal, desserts were served. Lilah took a bite and exclaimed, "Wow. So delicious."
"If you like it, then you should eat more," Gerard urged her.
“Yeah. But honey, you're so thoughtful," Lilah said with a grateful smile. “I guess you've been waiting for me for a long time."
“Not really." Gerard shrugged. “I just calculated when you would finish so I could serve you the meal at a perfect time."
Lilah was slightly surprised to hear this, and a warm feeling engulfed her heart. She leaned on his shoulder and said sincerely, “Gerard, having you in my life is really my greatest blessing."
“I feel the same way about having you," Gerard replied with a smile and held her hand.
