Jenna eagerly approached them and asked, "Lilah, Gerard! What did the teacher say to you?"

"Nothing," Lilah replied, giving her a faint glance.

"Really? Jerrold must have performed exceptionally well. That's why they only called you two, right?"

Lilah sensed her sarcasm from a mile away and didn't care to engage.

Shortly after, a teacher from Newington Elementary School came out with the ranking list.

As soon as she did, the parents stopped chatting and excitedly rushed over.

The school was only going to admit two hundred students, their names printed on the list.

Jenna had utmost confidence that her daughter would land the top three spot. When the list arrived, Jenna's eyes quickly jumped to the top, and on the third position, she saw her daughter's name: Vera Harris.

"Vera, you're in the third place!"

Although ranking third was a bit disappointing, it was still an impressive feat considering Vera was competing with so many students.

One by one, the people around showered Jenna with compliments. “Wow!

Your daughter is amazing!"

“She truly inherited the Harris family's excellent genes!

Congratulations!"

“People say that boys are more outstanding, but I believe that the girls of the Harris family aren't inferior to them!"

As soon as someone said these words, everyone present knew what it meant.

ALL of a sudden, all eyes were on Jerrold.

Seeing this, Jenna felt particularly satisfied in her heart. All the time she had spent cultivating Vera's skills and talents wasn't in vain. Today was just the beginning. In the future, Vera would continue overshadowing Jerrold. This was what she wanted most in the world.

Of course, Jenna didn't voice out her thoughts. She maintained a modest expression as she said, "I'm sure Jerrold must have done well, too."

Her eyes then jumped to the bottom of the list in search of Jerrold's name, but it wasn't there. Not in the last ten, nor in the last twenty.

Was it possible that Jerrold didn't get in?

As soon as she thought of this, Jenna almost burst into laughter.

Her hunch was right. This autistic child wasn't anything special at all. He was just a dim-witted kid!

Although Jenna felt triumphant in her heart, she pretended to comfort Lilah by saying, "It seems Jerrold didn't get admitted, but that's okay! I'm sure there are other excellent private schools for you to choose from."
