Laura had never been kidnapped. She was so scared that she was shaking like a leaf.
Lilah glanced at Laura and stated in a calm voice, "It costs more than 100 million dollars to hire these people. What makes you think you can afford them?"
Laura's face turned red and pale.
Considering the situation they were in, was this the right time to talk about this?
Either way, Laura was very aggrieved. She glowered at Lilah and demanded, “I didn't offend anyone. Did you get me into trouble?"
“Shut up," the mercenary scolded. Laura gulped and fell silent immediately.
But soon, the two women found out the reason why they were kidnapped.
"Mr. Harris," the leader of the mercenaries said into the phone he held against his ear.
Frowning slightly, Lilah wondered if they kidnapped her because of Gerard.
On the other side, Gerard said coldly, “What do you want?"
"Mr. Harris, I just want to play a game with you. I think you may have already figured out where we are, but I advise you not to act rashly. We have planted explosives all over the place. If you force your way in, we will all die here today," the leader of the mercenaries announced.
When Lilah heard this, she looked around and saw a bomb.
These people risked their own lives to achieve their goal.
As for Laura, she was so scared that her eyes had turned red as if she was about to burst into tears. She was still so young-too young to die.
“What the hell do you want? Just tell me," Gerard urged.
“I want plot number six," the leader of the group blurted out. “And also twenty percent of the shares of the Harris Group."
Now, the objective of the group was finally out in the open.
Their greed was immeasurable. Seeking 20% of the shares of the Harris Group was outrageous.
At this point, Laura felt very desperate and anxious. It seemed to her that she was certain to die. As far as she knew, Gerard would not give up his shares.
But to the astonishment of everyone, Gerard said in a firm tone, "Deal."
The leader of the group was shocked. Laura was even more shocked.
She looked at Lilah in envy. She never expected that Gerard would consider Lilah more important than the future of his company.
“But mind you, we will only spare one person. You'll have to choose who," the leader said.
"Are you playing games with me?" Gerard barked at him.
