“What do you mean?" Tracy asked in confusion.

“You don't love me at all, Mom. You only love power and money. You can't even compare to Dad," Laura explained.

This response made Tracy furious and she raised her hand to slap her.

But before her palm could make contact with Laura's face, someone suddenly grabbed it.

"Tracy Rhodes, so this is how you've been treating Laura over the years, huh?" Josh asked with an angry glare.

Tracy's facial expression changed dramatically.

What was Josh doing here?

Why had he suddenly appeared in her office?

He was supposed to be in a slum, wasn't he?

“Get out of my office! Who let you in? Security!" Tracy shouted at the top of her lungs.

"Don't bother. I'm leaving right now," Josh said and took Laura's hand.

"Stop! She's my daughter," Tracy confronted him angrily.

“Not anymore," Josh snapped. “If I had known that you were mistreating her, I would have taken her away a long time ago."

“Laura?" Tracy gasped, looking at Laura in displeasure. The fact that Laura was not surprised made her know that she had already met Josh.

Tracy saw this as a serious act of betrayal and she cursed Laura in her mind. She carried her daughter for nine months before finally giving birth to her, yet Laura went ahead to betray her! “Laura, do you want to leave with him?" she asked in an angry tone. "If that's what you want, just have it in mind that you'll no longer be a member of the Rhodes family. And I will no longer give you any more support."

As far as Tracy was concerned, anyone that was sensible and wise wouldn't choose someone like Josh who had nothing.

Hence, she felt very confident, because knowing that Laura was used to living a luxurious life, Tracy was sure that she would not be willing to lead a life of poverty with Josh.

But to her astonishment, Laura left without looking back.

Tracy's jaw dropped.

“Laura Rhodes!" she roared at her daughter after she had recovered from the shock.

But Laura still didn't look back. Not long after, she and Josh vanished from Tracy's sight.

ALL of a sudden, Tracy felt serious pain all over her body and she collapsed on the floor.

She had never expected her life to be so miserable like this. Her own biological daughter had just dumped her!

Laura was just too heartless.
