Lilah couldn't help but frown because she found his request quite strange. So she glanced at Gerard questioningly.

Gerard knew what Absolon wanted, so he explained to Lilah by whispering in her ear.

Lilah was so stunned that she couldn't speak for a moment.

How could her mother be Tracy's sister, Joselyn?

But then, she had never seen her mother's picture before. In fact, she used to think that Helga was her mother.

At this point, Absolon was staring at her so persistently that she had no choice but to answer, "My mother passed away a long time ago.

I don't have any photos of her."

"I see," Absolon nodded in understanding. Then he turned his attention to Gerard and said to him, “Mr. Harris, I'm sorry about the kidnapping incident. I've punished that man severely.”

"That's alright. I'm glad he has been punished," Gerard replied. He wasn't worried about the kidnapper's punishment because he knew that Absolon would definitely make him suffer.

Eventually, the two business tycoons exchanged a few parting words and they each went their separate ways.

"Absolon is so weird, Gerard. Do you think he's still in love with Joselyn?" Lilah asked Gerard.

"I don't know much about what's going on between those two. All I know is that Absolon has never been with another girl since she left,"

Gerard replied with a shrug.

"Wow!" Lilah gasped in surprise. She was really impressed. Apparently, Absolon must love Joselyn very deeply.

Meanwhile, Gerard looked at her with a doting smile. He felt she was really interested in gossiping.

As for Absolon, when he had returned to his car, he said to his assistant, "Look into Lilah Phillips. I want to see her profile in an hour."

Shortly after Absolon came back to his office, the investigation report was sent to him.

He was so excited that his fingers were practically trembling.

He opened the report and browsed through Lilah's profile.

Then his gaze fell on Lilah's mother's name.

Unfortunately, she wasn't the one he was looking for.

An indescribable feeling surged through Absolon's heart. Perhaps it was disappointment, or maybe happiness.

He had never seen his ex-fiancee since the day she left 20 years ago.

Absolon had been looking for her in vain all these years. Everyone who knew her told him she had died, but he refused to believe it. He felt that only kind people died young. She was so vicious that he firmly believed she would live very long.
