Everyone waited impatiently for this evidence she was talking of.
Lance also narrowed his eyes. He was still very confident.
He wondered how much evidence Lilah had and what she could prove.
No matter what she had, he didn't think it was enough to prove she was innocent.
Shortly after, a video was played on the screen. It displayed a woman rushing a boy to the hospital, with Celia's husband running after them and anxiously asking for a doctor.
Celia had thought Lilah would present something more concrete and not this superficial evidence. She almost burst into laughter when the video ended. "Is this the evidence you're so proud of? My husband simply accompanied my friend to the hospital. What's so wrong with it?"
Celia still didn't believe it. It had to be one of Lilah's lame tricks to slander her husband.
“Patience. You'll see the evidence soon. The boy needs a blood transfusion," Lilah said calmly.
The next second, voices came from the video.
“The boy has haemorrhage and needs blood type A. Who has this blood type?" asked a doctor who walked out of the emergency room.
"I do!" answered the worker hurriedly.
"What's your relationship with the child, sir?" asked the doctor.
"I'm his father."
The doctor nodded. "Then we need to check if your blood is mutually exclusive. Follow me, please."
The man followed the doctor without hesitation.
The hall was now in an uproar. Everyone gaped at the screen, realizing that the worker did have an illegitimate son. Even more shocking was the fact that the boy's mother was his wife's best friend.
Naturally, they all switched sides as anger surged in their hearts.
Celia's mind went completely blank. She couldn't believe it. Her late husband cheated on her with her own best friend. She gazed at Annie with an empty gaze.
Annie started panicking as she realized that the secret she had been guarding for so long had finally been exposed, and that too by Lilah.
She shook her head heavily. "Celia, it's not true. He only wanted to save my son. After all, I'm a single mother. He was afraid that we were being bullied. That's the only reason he said this."
Her words seemed to bring Celia back. She'd rather believe her friend's explanation than believe that her late husband betrayed her in such a way.
Lilah scoffed at that. "Really? That means he really cared about you.
I mean, he did give you all of his money."
Lilah then showed the bank transaction records.
