They believed Lance was too kind and considerate.
Lilah snorted and shook her head. "In that case, Mr. Phillips, can you explain what this is?"
An email appeared on the screen.
It was the conversation between Lance and Lilah, who used an anonymous identity to blackmail him.
“Fifty million dollars. Mr. Phillips, you sure are wealthy!" Sarcasm dripped from Lilah's tone.
Lance had spent fifty million dollars to buy the evidence of his wrongdoing.
Why would Lance have bought someone off if he was guilt-free?
It was clear to everyone now that Lance was the brain behind everything that happened.
Lance finally lost his calm. His face paled and his mouth seemed to have been sewn shut. He never imagined that Lilah could be behind the blackmail.
"No, my." Lance tried to explain, but Lilah interrupted him, asking, "Are you going to say your email was hacked, Mr. Phillips? Do you think the public will fall for that stupid excuse?"
She looked at the crowd as if awaiting an answer.
Of course, no one would believe him anymore.
Celia almost blacked out. She felt as though she had been living a lie all this time. Seemingly, everyone who had helped her had only done so for selfish reasons.
"You're all liars! You deceived me!" She jumped to her feet, glaring at them in hatred. "Annie, Lance, you both colluded against me. Liars!"
She was uncontrollable at this point.
"No, Celia, it's not true!" Annie still tried defending herself.
What she got in return was another sound slap across her cheek. Then, as if she had gone mad, Celia laughed hysterically and left the hall Luckily, the security guards took a hold of her.
Now that the truth was out, Lilah declared firmly, "I've never done anything to the Dillon Group. It's the other way around instead. They keep standing in the way of my company's growth. Lance, we're family, aren't we? We may be business rivals, but it shouldn't be so dirty, right?"
The reporters all felt sorry for Lilah now.
They now admired her, doubting if any other person would have survived this type of crisis.
The Dillon Group was a vicious company. They killed a worker and donated money to his family to maintain their good image.
"Mr. Phillips, how could you treat your cousin so ruthlessly?"
“Mr. Phillips, were you worried that the Phillips Group would surpass yours?"
“Mr. Phillips, didn't you feel guilty when you framed Miss Phillips?"
